Not a terrible player but not at the level we require even for a squad player.

Thought he played well but as everyone mostly thinks, he'll never be 1st choice unfortunately.

He's nothing special but he's much better than Kobayashi imo. Him and Welsh had solid games today.

Liam Scales performed well and Rodgers confessed he’s had several conversations with Aberdeen manager Barry Robson who wants him back for the new season – possibly permanently – following last term’s loan success.

Rodgers said: “Liam’s excellent and I really like him. He’s an intelligent boy.

“He’s come over, obviously gone out to Aberdeen on loan and done really well.

“He’ll be at an age where he’ll want to play.

“I just think you need to have a strong squad. You have to make sure you have the depth there.

I would think Aberdeen are keen to have him back.

“I’ve obviously had a couple of conversations with Barry.

“But we’re in no rush, I’ll just assess it and see where it is. We’ll take it from there.”

Sounds like he will be sold to Aberdeen when we are happy that CCV is fit again, Nawrocki gets settled in and we have played them up there.

It's an awkward position for players at his level, none of us really think he's good enough to be starting for us, but games like today he looks like he'd be ok backup for the odd game, but still he's backup you don't actually ever want to see playing, because he's only really going to get a game if we're a bit * with injuries.

Tbh for me he's been the best defender in the pre season so far, it's maybe not requiring a huge level so far, but I think he's been pretty decent.

One of them where I think we should be selling him to a championship team. Surely be interested parties from down there, given how he performed for the sheep last year. Think there is a bigger ceiling to make money on a potential sell on too.

Aberdeen are never going to sell anyone for major cash. Whereas all teams in the championship can get 4/5 times the fee Aberdeen can command if he performs very well, meaning we would get huge cash.

Sell to someone down south for £500k with a 30% sell on.

I’d be loaning him to a championship club. Put him in the shop window down there and we could get anywhere from a couple of mill to as you say £4m-5m. That would be immense business for us.

How long is his contract now? If he goes away another year, it’ll be his 3rd season here eh?

Just checked, until end May 2025. Seems a weird time to finish, usually they go through to end of June.

    Aye May’s weird.

i can’t remember who it was but did we not have somebody a couple year back who’s contract was finishing in a January before he signed an extension? Might be talking * there but I think it was a thing.

    * aye, Dom McKay. I really want to know how he managed to end up being the guy brought in.

Other clubs talking bout our business with them under him was * fascinating. Seemed to have luckily stumble into a great CEO in Nicholson. Kinda similar to how we got Ange after the Howe * when you think of it.
