I thought he looked slow as * and his passing was dreadful personally.

Partially explained of course but I don’t think he played well at all.

Says it all that a year on neither him or Trusty have nailed down that starting place.
    Improvements needed in Summer

Id have it as the primary position that needs addressing in the team personally. Its the position with most room for improvement and the style Rodgers wants to play means we need better distribution from the centre halfs.

I’d sell either him or Trusty depending on what figure we could get and go for another LCB

I'd sell both to be fair.
Throw money at CCV to stay.
Get Narwocki up to scratch and get a third quality CB in.
Promote Murray fully as the 4th and get on with it.

His passing is always slow and dreadful.

It's a myth that he's some kids of ball playing defender

Surely either Trusty or Scales will be sold in the summer. Rodgers says he prefers a left footed player on the left hand side of CB but I'm really not convinced on Trusty or Scales being first choice next season. So i would assume we would be looking for an upgrade on them both and then one will be gone.

Be surprised if Nawrocki is here next season. Rodgers clearly doesn’t rate him.

Which is a shame, because he's looked better than the other two.

Solid at the back with CCV again. This is our best CB partnership imo.

Should never have broke it up.

Great performance from Scales I thought, won most of his duels that i can remember and started a lot of attacks. Some great passes.

Back to his best now, never drop him for a big shitebag again. His through ball for Idah's goal was Taylor-esque.

Having him to build up a foundation of play at the back gives us the base to play better.

His passing is just a bit quicker, a bit more positive, played in the right way for guys to run onto and just a bit more vision.

The league cup final down against the Huns and him being introduced at half time was the biggest example of that. He is cultured as a player but he is do or die. I really, really like him and hope that guys with him being out the team and coming back in and the level in general going up, with him as a massive part of if gives fans a different perspective on him.

He was good today, I do like how he can bring the ball out of defence.

Your thoughts on Liam Scales performance alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers?

Yes, I think when you're playing against that system where it's so important that your two centre-halves are able to step in and distribute the ball with that quality.

And Liam did that. He's a fantastic player. Liam makes the great ball, but it only goes in there because of the run.

Reo’s run was there and he squares it and it's a good finish.

To Reo for Idha's tap in.
He is just better on the ball than Trusty, which is what we want when playing against those type of bus parkers.

I love that he’s returned to the starting eleven. He got dropped for a shocker but was kept dropped for Trusty who was getting away with * that Scales would be dropped for doing once. And that’s down to him being signed for £6.5m and Rodgers signing.

And that should never come into it.

He’s another guy that is an easy option to drop. But since he came in start of last season, he’s been great 95% odd of the time. People have waited for it to stop, if he was playing above himself, and judging him with a lot of scrutiny. It happened at Ibrox, no doubt. But since then the talk about him I find insane, not good enough even as a back up etc, sell him can’t be trusted. Coming back in, and another guy that’s major for the upturn in the last two games, it’s now why did we wait so long to do get him back in.

    we’re fickle.

It’s a fact I point out far too much to give him his due, but it’s not a coincidence he is the player who has the most MotM awards in the CL for us. Time to stop viewing him as the Dermot Desmond signing from his other club and the lack of ambition the signing was met with that window. He’s a player

He's also probably our biggest threat from corners.
