Do you mean he doesnt deserve the personal stuff, or the criticism about his ability?

That criticism comes as a result of people having to watch him week in, week out though. If he was a backup and only playing sporadically, therefore his errors were naturally fewer and further between (less fresh in fans’ minds), then he’d get a lot more leeway from the fans.

He’s not good enough to play every week and we’re at a point where it’s actually unfair on him that he’s having to.

He’s been decent enough so far this season but if we signed a proper partner for CCV this team goes up several levels

As far as I can see, CCV has already formed a decent partnership with Scales already. It has been plain to see that when CCV has been paired with other CB's like Nawrocki, Lagerbielke and Welsh, and a DM like Iwata, we have been ropey in defence, to say the least.

The League and Scottish Cup won last year with a successful CCV and Scales partnership, and two wins and two clean sheets in this year already, the abuse and criticism levelled at Scales is both unimaginative and not based on reality.

If we ever want to improve and aspire to be better, there's a few positions where we can easily upgrade.

Liam Scales' place is one of those easy upgrades.

I'm grateful for what he did when we needed him last season but that doesn't mean we should be content with him.

An upgrade of Scales would be colossal alongside CCV.

I've never been more certain that a player is going to get sent off for a last man foul than Scales in the upcoming UCL campaign .

I would be willing to bet you that it would more likely be Welsh, Lagerbielke or Nawrocki.

I don't think Scales is that stupid.

CCV has never played with Lagerbielke and has only started 3 games with Nawrocki.

Mad as well that Lagerbielke's debut is the only time he played with Nawrocki as well.

Shocking actually that we spent decent money on 2 centre-backs and combined in a year they've only played 3 times between them with the 1st choice centre-back.

Out Lagerbielke's 6 starts 1 was with Nawrocki and 5 were with Scales.
Out Nawrocki's 9 starts 3 were with CCV, 1 with Lagerbielke, 1 with Welsh and 4 with Scales.

Needs replacing, no doubt about it.

Problem is do you really see us getting in a quality centre half in by the end of the window?

He played a nice pass to I think it might have been Forrest in the first half from maybe 30 yards where he absolutley battered it curling to him right at him - the type of pass he never does with Forrest standing on the byline so higher risk.

I remember thinking fuckinhell he never tries that maybe he's improved.

But was like he got too cocky as about 2 minutes later he tried to pass it to I think Forrest again but even closer and it was more his usual softer pass and he put it about 8 yards behind Forrest and straight out the park and set himself back again.

He's been excellent today, actually think he's bailed CCV out a few situations.
