If he plays, teams get joy with crosses into his and Taylor's area. The semi-final and the huns at home for example.

He will do against most teams, but I hope we find the partner for CCV we need against better opposition.

 

You could almost say he's been weighed in the balance and found wanting.

He's been excellent 1st half.. topped of by a goal..

 

Yep played well, getting forward and always involved in our attacking play. Keep it up son.

Thought he was our weakest link today, personally. Some good balls to be fair but also gave the ball away under no pressure a few times and he looked physically weak defensively.

 

He was excellent today.

 

Easy to look good when we're completely dominant.

The lad should never be any more than a backup if we want to progress.

That said I fully expect to go into the CL with a defence that still features him, Taylor and Johnston none of whom are good enough for that level.

He was solid enough today, but against better sides this constant passing the ball to players under pressure or players unable to hold it up properly is gonna cost us.

He also struggled a few times against Vassel, who admittedly is a unit, but you would want better.

He gets plaudits for cracking header, but he's still a brain fart in the post imo.

 

He gets a hard ride from the fans; plenty of it is unfair imo.

Obviously has his limitations (I want an upgrade), but nowhere near as bad as some make out.

 

Vassell also got past CCV and put in a cross that almost led to a goal. Vassell is a unit that most defenders would struggle physically against.

Today, Scales had the same passing accuracy as CCV despite hitting a lot more passes.

I agree that Scales isnt european class, but today Scales had a good game and scored a brilliant header, yet he is still made a scapegoat.

 

Scales was top quality today. If you moan about that then your simply a *. Sorry *.

But a solid performance isn't gonna change my mind about his limitations, not those of Taylor, a player who has put in some truly gut busting performances over the years.

Scales is decent domestic option. What else do some of you want me to say? That he's Maldini? Or we should just shut up and not give opinions on a fan forum that is literally set up for us to share opinions.

100% this. The time he takes on the ball is detrimental to the way we are trying to play. Ralston was the exact same. Take a touch and pass the ball.
