Tbf to Scales he wasn't supposed to be one half of our preferred center back partnership. He stepped up when we needed him and has played his part this season. I'll be forever grateful for that.

Having said that, we desperately need better if we are to progress.

In all honesty he needs sold.

I like Welsh and think he gets a rough time considering he doesn't really do much wrong. He also meets the home grown quota. Nawrocki probably deserves another year considering this year has been stop start for him. Lagerbielke needs sold or loaned out next season.

Scales was going to be sold last summer and I can't see why we'd keep him if we are to bring in at least one more center backs, which we undoubtedly should and will.

Exactly. Keep the line, all 3 are offside with nothing to defend.

Pic kinda sums it up. I think Taylor and Johnston have work to do but he's by far the one most out of place in that defence.

He was a complete * show.

No idea what Nawrocki has to do to start before him.

Other than giving Rangers a silly freekick allowing them back into the game at Parkhead, I don't think he's done much wrong.

I don't understand why Rodgers doesn't want to give him a chance. It's his signing and he cost a fair amount of money.

Teams have got the memo to let him dally on the ball, it’s clear as day now.

Everytime we concede from a cross you see scales running back out of position and nowhere near being able to challenge for a ball in the air.

There is no doubt he has come in and filled a gap and done well at times, however i expect my CB's to be reading the game and be in a position to at least challenge the high balls into our box or hold the line in an otherwise offside situation.

nowhere near good enough to be starting if we had proper quality.

Yep. When I first saw it I had a small bit of sympathy for him as I thought it was a great cross, but he’s napping there.

He was excellent for us before Christmas and I still think he has good qualities as a defender but he’s nowhere near good enough to be starting for us week in week out. He’s like a low end Championship level defender.

His worst game yet. Badly at fault for 2nd and 3rd goals. His passing is dreadful and takes far too many touches, slowing the game down.

You can feel the nerves from the fans everytime he's on the ball now, which in turn is making him even more nervous on it.

Think it's interesting that there been no new contract signed either and no real urgency about it. Rodgers likely knows he's not good enough and if he's serious about us kicking on in europe he shouldn't be here. So maybe explains contract situation

Add to that the number of times he heads long balls to opposition midfielders (does it for 3rd goal yesterday) or straight up in the air causing mass panic (tynecastle)

The Nawrocki sub until we regrouped for extra time was so, so bad man.
Nobody knew what the * was going on, that goal was right after it but up until we got to extra time it was all 3 CB’s getting in each others road, no shape, no idea * was going on.

Been a Rodgers trait that through the years, his defensive style is more defenders, but not a cohesive idea of defending. Remember the 5 at the back against PSG 7-1? Said after the game people were on at him to be more defensive, he played 5 at the back and it doesn’t work like that. But he played 5 in the back, in the least defensive style you’ll ever see. I thought he’d got past that after moving to 352 against Atletico Madrid earlier this season and it working, looking like it was a backup plan something we seamlessly moved into.

That was horrific. Our defending on the weekend was concerning as *, including CCV, who mostly stepped up and cut out the * 2nd half but he still had a moment that nearly ended in a goal for them, should have probably but was a shocking finish.

Aye a terrible decision all round, it was almost panic stations despite us being a few mins away from the win. Baffling.

There's got to be a better way of dealing with these situations, seems to happen a lot that once teams get their tails up and go after us we end up all over the shop. It's probably a lot to do with the fact it's drilled into players that we're all about attacking teams, the Celtic way etc etc. So struggle to contain teams conubg at us.

Don't understand why we can't have different systems for different scenarios. In that situation tell the full backs to stay back and mark their men, midfielders to close space outside our box, Idah to be alert for high balls and wingers to help out further back and be ready to get up and support the striker.

The space that * had wide left was * diabolical, that for me is down to a failure in system. AJ should know to stop that cross getting in and the other 3 certainly should make sure and get a head on it if not. Shocking really.

I think we do but it’s all with attacking scenarios in mind. But I’m basing that off BR’s first stint because we haven’t really needed to see it yet this time round, we seen it twice back then both against the Huns - 3-2 Eddy and Dembele. That was a practiced plan if we go to ten men - 432. The other was getting Griffiths up next to Dembele, chasing a win and we got a last minute winner Griff setting up Dembele.

The Atletico 352 I was satisfied as * thinking that’s clearly something worked upon. That on the weekend though… doesn’t feel like we had a clue when an extra defender came on to make it 3 CB’s.

Right now, I’m scrubbing it up to the fact we haven’t managed to play our first choice 4 at the back for any sustained period this season.

Nawrocki came on in the 118th minute mate.
