Needs to be at least 3 big game players ahead of him in the pecking order.

He's becoming a bit of a liability and opposition's are targeting him now.

We need someone else in. Almost every time I see Nawrocki, I think he’s better than Scales, but obvs Brendan isn’t seeing it with Nawrocki right now.

I don’t agree that we need as many as 2 or more new CBs, though. I think if we had CCV, one new CB and Nawrocki ahead of him, Scales would be fine to keep in that 4th choice place. Retain Welsh just in case (and for homegrown), and punt Kobayashi and Lagerbielke.

We need a better quality CB than Scales. Squad player at best.

Would genuinely not be giving him a new contract and would happily see him move on for nothing.

Will go down to the Championship like MJ and do very well but he’s just not suited for us, and never has been.

Move on in the summer and either play Welsh or Nawrocki from now on.

Welsh at least has the advantage of being Scottish

Dirt today, not sure why he started with just being back. Nawrocki should be starting ahead of him moving forward.

By football standards he's a relative baby - only 3 pro seasons, I think, as he wanted to focus on his education.

I like the man - he's got heart, he always tries and he clearly WANTS to give everything he can for us. As a footballer, at our level, he's not got enough though (or he's wrecked from the games, maybe?) because he doesn't seem to have the composure or stamina to give everything we need for 90/180mins a week... It's very telling our defence creaks at about the 80min mark when he starts.

He's a great squad player, in the same vein as Ralston, who'd do brilliantly as somebody's permanent understudy at the moment. If we can't do that for him we'd be best to sell him entirely, for both our sakes...

His positional awareness for their 3rd is horrendous.. we had another CB in the pitch, it was obvious they were going back post again..

Tbf Aberdeen made it tough for both CBs today..

I'm still probably in the camp of its too late to change it.. it's a tough one because changing it could cost us, but so could keeping him in..

He had a period where he was unreal. Now we must simply keep him away from the starting 11

He's stood up this season and done well at times especially at the start of the season but now he's constantly a bag of nerves and playing himself into trouble, probably seeing his true level now

I see no reason to give Scales a new deal, he’s not home grown, not good enough to start, and we could easily replace him with a better option as a back up. Having Scales and Welsh on the books makes no sense.

A savvy club would cash in on him having had a good spell earlier in the season that pads his stats and sell for what we can get for him.

Yeah I'd sell now, him and Lagerbielke. Get 2 new in. If he was homegrown fine but he's not. I'm confident we could buy better CBS from teams in our league who are HG.

Don't know how he got in the PFA team of the year, same people picked Lundstram too so maybe that explains it.

He's lucky we had injuries and signed a bunch of useless * in defense.

Considering he's actually a left back, and he's in ahead of natural CBs says it all.

Honest enough big guy, did well for the first half of the season but let's be honest he's * rotten.

Was dog * against the huns, absolutely pish again today.

Teams will just target the area between him and Taylor.

I feel as though we should have two guys ahead of Scales and Taylor in their positions before I can relax.

Nowhere near good enough for Celtic.
