I’m convinced he thinks he’s paid by the seconds he’s on the ball.

Teams let him have as much of the ball as he wants, the same way they done it with Starfelt. Difference is, Scales has got a decent left peg on him so should be making more of it. Starfelt was always on his weaker side, which didn't help him.

Very clear today Motherwell let him have a ton of time and space, feel as if that’s what McInnes was alluding to after the Killie game as well.

He’s not bad on the ball but he is ponderous and that allows the opposition to get back into shape to defend our attacks. As soon as Scales passes it, it’s like a trigger to press us. Not a coincidence, it’s happening in every game almost now.

Think that was his worst game for us this year, got destroyed in that first half physically.

Wouldn't be opposed to cashing in on his run in the team and letting him off in the summer. Could get a few decent offers from the championship.. he's taken his chance and fair play to him but his ceiling and limitations are clear.

Back up player no doubt. He's come in and done well, but has hit his ceiling in terms of potential.

Like Taylor is targeted at LB, opposition know to let him have possession of the ball. He'll slow it down or drive in to a crowd of players doing nothing. He was great for what was needed last year. He should be rested now and Rocky and CCV should be our pairing for the remainder.

It's not just the fact he's too slow on the ball. It's the fact he can't make a simple pass to feet when moving it side to side. I feel like most of his passes are about 5 yards behind the player so they have to move back to get control of the ball instead of moving it in front of the player so they can progress forward.

He’s deserving of a new contract however it should be 2 or 3 years maximum and should be in a role similar to what ralston is now, where we know he can come in and do a job when required.

He deserves immense credit for his level of performances this season and the sheer fact he’s been the one consistent in that back line, however his weaknesses are becoming more apparent and it’s causing us issues.

Don’t want to be negative after that game but I have to admit it looks like I was wrong about him. He looks really dodgy the last few weeks. Sooner Nawrocki is back the better.

He's so poor on the ball. Seeing us play quicker and more direct only highlighted how slow he is in possession, and how awkward he looks.

It was very noticeable tonight that he struggled to get to grips with the tempo of the rest of our side..

As soon as we upped it and he had to move it quicker as you say, he was trying but ultimately kept getting it wrong..

I like him but it was definitely shown up as a problem there..

Aye starting to reevaluate my position on him recently. Even defensively he's starting to look poor, tha disallowed goal for Dundee first half he was shocking for it. Fairly confident he'll manage on ok till the summer but think we need to be upgrading as I don't think Nawrocki is the answer either.

His positioning and anticipation wasn’t great tonight but difficult to be negative after that overall performance.

He’s our first choice LCH and as long as he’s beside CCV for the remainder I’m ok with that.

It's weird to say given we won 7-1 but thought he was pretty poor tonight. Passing was ropey and was weak at the disallowed goal aswell.
