Big scales is a a genuine hard working honest pro..like Taylor but they should never be 1st choice in a Celtic defence...the board have allowed the standard to drop so far that people think these guys are ok....it's honestly the most frustrating thing about being a Celtic fan just now knowing the money that's sitting in the bank yet they won't spend it...just the thought of throwing away the league and those * in town celebrating should be enough for any real Celtic man in the boardroom to be searching the planet for a decent standard of footballer to take us up a level.

I missed most of the second half through work; but FWIW the 50 minutes or so I saw, it was Nawrocki who was giving me the fear not Scales. What is the incident folk are referring to where Mijovski left him for dead?

It must be extremely tempting to shift him to left back now, he is the current best option by a mile.

I think that needs to happen and start Welsh with nawrocki or bring one of the younger guys in. Bernabei just isn't good enough.

Agree with others that he's an ideal squad option, same as Taylor. The type of players who can come into the team and do a good job domestically when needing to rotate after a grueling midweek European fixture.

That's what I thought we had in mind when Rodgers spoke about adding quality to the team. Bringing in players of a level required to supplant others in the squad. Surely that's how you improve.

Right now you're talking about a backine of Johnstone, Welsh, Nawrocki, Scales being our strongest.

    My word.

Not his best game, but we owe him one.

Not his best game and I still thought he was one of our better players. Says it all.

Couple of hairy moments, Couple of vital involvements. Think the constant chopping and changing is affecting him now, tbh I'm amazed he's held it together this long with the state of the defensive situation this season.

He was * shocking, need grabbed by the throat and headered in the face and telt to pass a ball quicker

I think our midfield is hiding from him to be honest.

I’ll keep on saying it until I’m blue in the face.

He’s a massive issue in our play being so slow. Holds onto the ball like it’s glued to his feet and eventually passes it backwards.

Had a couple of huge defensive moments for us but he’s simply not good enough with the ball at his feet to be in our first CB pairing. Welsh made a couple of bad passes but they were always forward and trying to do something.

I thought he and Welsh were a bit ponderous at times.

What is noticeable though is the difference in getting the ball into the midfield when Ange told his centre mids to drift wide. Night and day to now, where Bernardo and O'Riley seem static at times.

Be nice if people in front of him and A.N.Other could maybe move around a wee bit and make themselves available for the ball.

He’s ridiculously slow on the ball, takes an age to do anything with it then ends up having to go across the back.

His block was an incredible bit of defending and he’s superb in the air but the way he holds onto the ball for ages is a huge part of why our tempo has been so slow all season.

On the other hand it’s incredibly static in front of him, Hatate being unavailable nearly all season has killed us.
