Seeing what you choose to see mate. No idea how you turn to criticising Scales for what we seen yesterday.
He is statistically one of our best defenders and has kept his place for a reason.

 

This season he has. Do you watch the games?

 

Could argue more consistent, due to CCV missing games, but definitely not a better player... But, they complement each other quite well, and it's not ridiculous to compare them as close to equals... Keeps progressing and in a couple of seasons it might be true though

 

I’m seeing what’s happened on the pitch over the course of the season and he’s not good enough. He’s kept his place because of an injury crisis and poor recruitment.

A laughable claim.

 

They’re nowhere near equals and Scales won’t be a first team regular next season if Rodgers is anywhere near the manager we think he is.

 

Hes statistically made less mistake than ccv this season and played more games. What's laughable? He doesn't have a cool name?

 

Stop making * up. Cameron isn’t a ‘cool’ name either. He’s only played more games due to Carter-Vickers having injuries.

 

2nd in line for POTY behind O'Riley but aye he's not good enough. Always makes me laugh how some people form an opinion on a player and just cannot admit they were wrong no matter how many times that player proves it.

Luckily the manager sees what Scales brings and is absolutely there on merit. Guy is * excellent.

 

And that's the bottom line, he's in on merit..

Could we improve on him in the market? Aye but we've spent 6 mill on two promising centre halves who were getting rave reviews in their own countries (granted Nawrocki's had injuries), plus an experienced Liverpool backup, only for all of them to be behind Scales in the pecking order. So no guarantees..

 

Utter *.

 

He's played 21 games this season, versus 14 for CCV... That's at least 1/3 of the games he's been better...

If your metric of a player being better relies on another player not featuring then it doesn’t say anything meaningful.

 

Exactly. Do we think if Scales had been anything less than brilliant Rodgers would be playing him ahead of Nawrocki? Of course he wouldn't, not with the monet we spent on Maik.

It's actually incredible how well he's done keeping his place.

 

Just because people give him praise doesnt mean they overlook his mistakes. If he didnt make mistakes he wouldnt be with us mate.

He has formed a formidable partnership with CCV at the moment. Its actually been one of our only constants this season.

Nawrocki and Welsh have both shown well before and after injury. They havnt forced their way in because of the form of Scales. You just come across like you are out for him.

 

Nawrocki was injured for ages. Then had issues when he was rehabilitating. Rodgers said as much in December. It’s got * all to do with Scales being “brilliant”.

 

I know praise doesn’t mean they overlook his mistakes. I’ve praised him myself this season but his mistakes are definitely overlooked because of his guts and glory style.

I’m not “out for” any player, he just isn’t good enough. I feel exactly the same way about a few others in the squad but for different reasons.

 

Think it's a mixture of the two tbh.

Nawrocki doesn't deserve game time currently as Scales doesn't deserve to be dropped though.

 

What do you mean by guts and glory style? The fact that he can actually defend?

He’s a centre half. I’d like to think any of our centre halves play with guts and glory and if not they shouldn’t be playing there.

Are you wanting him to be a playmaker from centre half?

 

It’s a polite way of saying he puts in a lot of effort but isn’t actually very good. I wouldn’t say the same about Carter-Vickers, Van Dijk, Boyata, or countless other Celtic defenders who are or were much, much better than Scales.

 

Thats just complete nonsense now. Just making stuff up.
