Liam Henderson

Henderson is technically the best player we have ever produced at 20 years old.

Strangely he will get better.

 

I doubt if any of those mentioned will be first choice going forward ....at least i hope not !!

So that being the case will our manager see this and start using him ? Given that our team is hardly coming down with midfield talent he will surely see what you can eh ?!!

HaHa , you're saying Henderson is a technically better player than the likes of Paul McStay was when he was 20. Total garbage.

 

I'm meaning from the Lennoxtown era.

 

Henderson is underrated, rather than overrated, brilliant player who can do anything with a football.

 

I honestly don't get what people see in him. Everything about him screams of mediocrity.

 

Henderson is better than Liam Miller, better than Mcgeady and Maloney just give him time to prove it.

A player with skill and class, he's levels above what you judge to be a good player. Go on Liam.

McGeady at Henderson's age had already become a fixture in the first team, playing in Europe and impressing. Maloney at 19/20 had just scored 10 goals in 20 games for the first team in a season. They were miles ahead of Henderson.

How good can Henderson really be if Armstrong and McGregor are higher up in the pecking order.

 

If he was as good as you make out he'd have absolutely owned the first divison. He won the YPOTY at Hibs, fair enough, but he hardly tore the league apart.

I think Hendo is underrated, but not nearly as much as a few above me are claiming. McGeady, Maloney? Give me a break. Not even close at the same age. Henderson is however a better option than Armstrong and Johansen in the CM position and IMO McGregor but that's 50/50. The reason I rate him is his vision and drive on the park, and his passion when he plays. Gives his all and has the quality to make a difference. Good on the ball but isn't invisible off it which the guys I previously mentioned are often guilty of. He can pass with precision across the park which would be very valuable for our side to have going against teams in Scotland who park it and stall up the wings. His set piece delivery, at least when at Hibs was almost world class. He's shown before that he's a got talent and has made an impact here, as well as Rosenborg and Hibs.

I don't know what another loan is going to do other than deter him of a chance here and have us miss out on him. I'm not saying he's a worldy or a starting player right now but he can surely be a solid option off the bench and a good player to have for cup matches. Not to mention that I see him being £3-4million player and a possible captain if we develop him right. Don't know why he's never really been given a shot since Lenny left but I think selling him or loaning him out would be a massive mistake.

 

In a nutshell

 

Bottom line is if he was as good as some seem to think he would be in our line up most weeks !! Our manager isnt afraid to give youth a chance and liam is a big lad ,so cant see how he cant make our squad seen as midfield is in definate need of an upgrade? That tells me he has ability and is by no means useless but wont have a part to play here !! Yup armstrong , mcgregor and some others are no better but if we are to progress hopefully the manager sees this and moves on .....hopefully asap because these guys can hang around for years taking a wage. Nothing personal just what i see week in week out !!

 

Nip & tuck between him & McGregor & is a more attractive proposition than Johansen at the minute. Would def keep him around, especially if we punt Johansen. In saying that I think Rodgers will punt Johansen, loan Henderson out & bring in a new DCM.
