THis has been on te news ! The record companies have been pushing it tryng to get the companies to cut people off or threaten it BUT neither of the companies have agreed to this but a few have offered to send out letters warning people they maybe face prosecution although the carphone warehouse refused to do even that !! To be honest its limewire they are monitoring so just try to use torrents more and only use limewire for things you cannot get anywhere else

They are many other p2p programs besides Limewire. I use one that isn't a big name one but has everything I've ever tried to find and I listen to lots of world music and very obscure things that can be hard to find sometimes. My advice is to avoid using Limewire simply because it is the big name program that they'll be looking for.

I personally use soulseek. Much better organzied than Limewire with zero viruses and is virtually unknown to the majority of p2p users it seems.

bit * getting a letter like that. I thought it was a three strikes thing?

I'm also pretty sure that when you sign ups one of their packages in the small print it will say they are allowed to change their contract details at any time.
