Would be happier if he turned round and signed a new contract with us and trued to make his name here before * off although its obvious he's leaving as he's not had a chance while we've been short at the back

Genuinely believe he would have played instead of Murray if he wasn't half way out the door in those earlier games

Why do people keep running with this?

It's probably nothing to do with Celtic.

Not everyone wants to play in Scotland.....

Leeds have a huge following in Scandinavia (probably the largest following of any English club) and particularly in Norway. Haaland is a big Leeds fan as an example...

Probably moving more so for that reason in all honesty. No different to a young Irish player wanting to play at Celtic.

I'm guessing, but an improved contract might have come into his consideration too.

How Celtic handled Ajer’s move sounds like a convenient excuse. Ajer sounds happy and here’s a few quotes from an article(warning it’s the Sun)

“He told The Times: "I leave there with a smile on my face.

“I think you have to have the same mentality coming to the Premier League club as being in Celtic, you have to walk out on the pitch and think that you're going to win a game, it doesn't matter.”

"To be honest with you since I started playing football my boyhood dream has been to play here in the Premier League. So to be able to do that now for Brentford is a dream come true.“

Haaland’s old man played for them and he was born in Leeds so that might have something to do with it.

Yes, once he had secured his move.

There was clear discontent as the process dragged on and on.

Yes it did go on, however, that’s just impatience because there was a clear market for him and the club was extracting the best deal. It’s hard to trust the process when you are desperate for the move.

There’s a difference between extracting the best deal and acting unprofessionally. The tales from our transfer negotiations over the last few years are testament to that.

You tell his agent what you want for him. He goes to the interested parties. They either commit to the asking price or they don’t. Then they negotiate terms with the player. Once you’ve got a buyer, you don’t then go back on your initial asking price and demand a few million more. Wasting time for all the parties involved and gets you reputation for being a nightmare to deal with.

We * the Edouard deal like this and we done the exact same to Leverkusen with Ajer. It looks * IMO, just chancing your arm over and over again. We seem to struggle to judge the market

Too be honest couldn't care less if the guy wants to move let him go for what we think he's worth and stick a future sale percentage on.

I think it's clear now we shouldn't be trying to convince anyone that doesn't want to be here to stay. We move on there are always good players to be found that want to come to a club like us

It's a shame he's away, he is clearly talented, but that's down to teh lack of pathways in recent years, he's not the only talented youth to leave before getting into the team.

Cant fault the boy based on the lack of opportunities in recent years for youth. I'd have liked to have seen him in the team this year, it could have been a breakthrough season. He'll probably get loaned out to a league 1/2 English team this season now
