Ross county for the benefit of our highly promising and exciting prospect, more so than we did.

Not sure to laugh or cry, or just not care - as folk say, can't miss what we didn't know. And it's not like he was a automatic match day CB. Still need someone else, in the calibre of first team player over a project for this season.

A significant fee apparently

 

I would imagine with him being under contract it would be a £1m minimum, we don’t want to sell him. Hopefully more but not sure I could see it given he’s only got a year left on his deal.

 

Couldn't care less tbh! Unfortunately we are going through a rebuild and need First Team players right NOW, Only enough room for a couple youth players in the XI & if Welsh is the one in the CB position i'm happy!

A DOF is needed however, the 2 that went to Bayern Munich over the last couple years prove that much.. Missing link between our youth and the 1st XI.

 

LEO HJELDE will sign for Leeds United in the coming days.

The Celtic kid has been tracked by the Premier League side for months.

SunSport understands Leeds have now agreed a significant fee for the Norwegian defender.



Hjelde, 17, is expected to sign a long-term deal and will become part of the club's under-23 squad.

The defender has never played a competitive game for Celtic but spent the second half of last season on loan at Ross County.




Former Staggies boss John Hughes labelled him "the next Virgil van Dijk" during his Dingwall stint.


New Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou used him in pre-season at centre-half and left-back.

But he opted for fellow Hoops kids Dane Murray and Adam Montgomery for the Champions League qualifiers with Midtjylland.


Hjelde played for the Celtic B team last weekend but now will now head to Elland Road.

The Norway youth cap joined Celtic two years ago from Rosenborg as a 15-year-old.

 

He wants to move on. simple as that! Leeds have been sniffing about for a while 7 his head turned.

Sad that we will never know how he might have panned out at Celtic… I have the feeling he will be first team at Leeds before too long.

Not too bothered about the fee, although it's nice to get one, but hopefully we bolted on a 10/15% sell-on clause, because if he's playing in the EPL there's every chance of getting £8-10M for someone who never even played for us...

Not sure what Celtic were meant to do in this situation... Drop a 17 yo into the shitshow of last season? Obviously got his head turned early so all you can say is... don't hate the player hate the game... Actually I don't like the player now coming to think of it..

 

Money grabber, done nothing and running to the £ signs in England to.never play. Be farmed out to Torquay or something.

 

For sure. Hopefully there is a good sell on fee here in this deal as that is where we might actually make a tidy sum in a few seasons. Would rather he stayed and became the next Ajer but clearly he had no interest so for the best we sell him now. Don't want anybody in this rebuild that is not all in.
