i hoped that we would get through to the europa and gel as we progress, including the games inthe spl,but deep down i also knew that it was far too early after ringing in all the changes to compete with other teams who havent brought in 10 players and built their teams from a mess that celtic were in at the start of the season. As football fans, we want progress, but we want it NOW, which is understandable but teams need time.i want to keep lenny as manager because getting in someone else now would just cause more unrest and turmoil than its worth. He is also someone who lives and breaths celtic. I dont care about europe just now. I want to see a team grow, and to see where we are at the END of the season to see how far weve come. If all goes well we will have a team to give europe a proper go next season, instead of building a team from scratch every * season, thats one advantage those * gers have had on us in recent seasons. Apart from the goalie, theres been no loan signings so the stability should be more substantial come the end of the season. I dont think the outcome would have necessarily have been the same in utrecht had the team been playing together for months. Its a sad state of afairs just now that if lenny doesnt win the league then he will most definately be given the golden shoe out the door. So i really hope we can win the league. We have more strength in depth than rangers just now, so lets see what we can do with it.

the first game against utrecht at home, the game against braga at home, the ICT game and the St. Mirren game are not an aborration. there is progress being made. compared to last season, that was a world of improvement. we've had a setback here but when we've had setbacks in the past, Lenny's stepped up and addressed them and the teams been better for it. I expect the same to be the case after this setback. mon the lenny, mon the hoops

from parkhead glasgow but now live in merseyside

i agree on most of what your saying apart from all the things you said about the board with all the players coming in and out yes the board said cut the squad get rid of the big earners at parkhead, and that happend

we had a good few million left over from the jan window aswell 12 players left again big earners, so lennon had more money to spend also a better wage budget aswell

it was lennon who wasted time going for people like campbell he offerd him 35k a week and on a 2 year deal, david james, bellamy, and made and offer for robbie keane the boy weiss who knocked us back for rangers and thats just off the top of my head

so he has had time but mabe thats just a rookie mistake, but it could cost us in the end with only a few days left in the window, so really it was not all down the board......

Neil Lennon could be our manager for the next 10 years. We will win the SPL, bookies don't always get it right. I'm guessing that we were firm favourites to qualify on Thursday. Ignore the bookies and the press.

Whether we come 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the SPL, whether Glenbuck Cherrypickers or Rangers beat us in either Cup, The Rookie will not be sacked for the simple reason that for a Club with the profile of Celtic, to sack 2 Managers in such a short space of time would place such a question mark over the decision making process of The Board that it is unthinkable. If we don't win the SPL it will be 'learning curve' or 'work in progress', however I am not as convinced as some of my fellow 'Bhoys' that we are on to a winner. Oh how I want The Rookie to prove me wrong !!
My other concern is that we seem to be selling anyone that attracts an interested buyer and come January, I wouldn't be surprised if Clubs come a knocking for the likes of Juarez, Ledley and Kayal at which point Peter 'Lawman' will make a 'business' decision that will have an effect on the SPL.
So to all those who are talking up the Treble let alone the SPL, don't think that at the end of the 2010/11 season our current good players will still be with us.

Listen in all honesty the priority at the start ws win the league and yeah andy defeat is unwelcome the proof of the pudding is the league and thats decided next year we all have to stick together as rome wasnt built in a day and i believe the team will get better as it gels but we gotta give them time

Thought he would be or thereabouts. Honeymoon period is over, it's time to install the drive and determination we had when he was on the park and get the best out the players the way Martin O'Neill done with Bobby Petta and Petrov. If he does that this season then he can go on to be the longest serving manager at a club in the history of the game.

    That's idiocy.

The board have just had a manager who only lasted 9 months.

It's cost us dearly replacing the team to soon, and we've now invested heavily in contracts for a load of Lennon's players. There's no way they'll pull the plug on him.

    * the bookies. I rob them without a mask everytime I go in. They pay me more than my job does. C'mon Lennon win us the treble or atleast a League nd cup double. After all we are still in 3 competitions and if we win today we are top of the league.
O'Neils first season we went out to Bordeaux in the 2nd round of the uefa cup, 2nd season we beat Ajax away and Juventus, Porto and Rosenborg at home before taking Valencia to penalties.

Too true mate. Faith is the answer. It's a lot of crap the bookies are spinning. If Lenny wins the league he will be King Lenny. And if he does
and sends the Waistcoat spinning into retirement in ignominy, then that will be the icing on the cake.:celt_2:

If Neil Lennon does end up getting the bullet it will be a bit of a sad day for me and I would say also for Celtic Football Club. The man is Celtic through and through and I would hate to see him sacked and slagged by fans as he undoubtedly would be.

I really, really worry about his lack of experience and the number of players he's bringing in(Tony Mowbray got slagged for bringing in piles of players too), I just really hope it works out for Neil.
