What annoys me is not Lennon saying this, or even Wattie saying things like "Celtic's whole campaign this season is about them not getting penalties", but that Smith's comments are not debated at all, even when they're as deliberately provocative as that one. Whereas everything Lennon says is made a news story. Darrell King being the latest to mock our manager for "speaking in code, why not come out and say what you mean Lenny like Chris Sutton did in 2003?"
I despise that brown nosing hun. Sutton got banned for making such a suggestion, is your thick hun brain that oblivious? Where were you calling Sir Walter to make a dignified statement explaining what he meant by his comments about Celtic's "penalties campaign"?

Just part of the modern game I'm afraid. Lots of managers say stuff like that.

And Lennon is not the only one....

Why you not having a go at him?

Lennon is making one last effort to try and play mind games ahead of the run in and there's nowt wrong with that because desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Purple nosed" Fergie has been doing it for years, as someone else said even the cardigan had a pop at Celtic after the recent huns game.* Hearts team talk on Wednesday,we should just go out and pump them.

I don't have a problem with anything Neil Lennon has said or did all season. In fact I wish other Celtic men had the balls Lennon has.

I support 99% of Neil Lennon's comments in the media. I do however question the wisdom of criticising Hearts' performance at Ibrox when we are playing them in 2 days time. I think that was a stupid thing to do and it might come back to haunt us.

Let him speak his mind. So he challenges Hearts to beat us big deal. Should we not still be able to beat them? All this criticism of everything managers say is ridiculous. It's boring if they don't speak their mind, what's the point of interviews if they're just going to regurgitate exactly what we want them to say?

And regardless, there's nothing wrong with playing some mind games now. He has to try something now that it's out of our hands.

Tbh I am starting to think Lenny is coming across as a hot head and immature in terms of his temper and gestures. He needs to be more like a mature manager next year IMO instead of coming across like a fan.

the illumanti media in this country imo will always twist lennys words he calls a spade a spade some would see this is a negative quality but you will never crush lennys passion its what makes him a leader kill his passion then you kill the man whatever happens come sunday evening i will stand behind neil lennon with pride and more importantly without regret C.T.I.D.

Think that questioning other teams commitment is kinda weird, when Celtic players clearly didn't have much themselves against ICT.

I know what he's saying & as much as I agree with the sentiment - if we'd shown the commitment to go out & win our last 5 games, we'd be Champions.

    * the rest, it's up to us to win the league.

    No excuses!

If we can't beat a "commited" ICT team, to put us 2 points clear with 3 or 4 games to go - then Ghod help us.
ICT beat us fair & square - get over it.

this season has been unique in its pressures and circumstances in many ways so it is rather unfair to compare to previous managers and seasons.

from dougie mcdonald to sfa trials neil lennon has spoken up for our club and by enlarge said whats needed to be said. If he didnt say anything we would be just 'taking it on the chin' which im sure everyone had well and truly had enough of.

Why is it in England people love managers who say it how it is... Holloway, Warnock, Mccarthy etc yet in Scotland if you stand up to the hierarchy and call it how you see its totally frowned upon, especially if your a Irish Catholic.

Because Scotland is a backwater where it is still believed that the croppy should just lie down and know his place.
