He has a rolling contract so why does he need a new one?

I'll say the same as I did when we went through our rocky patch, judge him at the end of the season, a couple of defeats and people will be wanting him chopped again.

Let's see how many trophies we have in the cabinet come May, it's just daft talking about it now.

    So in short .. no

How many other sought after managers are on 6 month rolling contracts ?

A reward of a better contract is deserved if Lenny is looking for one.. If a club in another country see his good work and think it might be in their interests to offer him a 4 year deal then he'd have security for income over the next 4 years guaranteed , without the added pressure and hostility that comes with him living in Scotland , or specifically managing Celtic..

I know there's a feeling that because he's one of us he'll bend over and just take any deal going , just so he can stay as manager but it shouldn't be that way.. (If it is)

Should the club also start offering players short term rolling contracts and first wait and see what tophies they deliver , or get them tied up for longer because they are valued as assets for bringing long term success.. Isn't the manager equally important or even more important because the players get their direction , leadership and motivation from him..

The other side of it is that maybe Lenny doesn't want to commit to anything long term because he knows how things can change on and off the field in such a short space of time , so maybe the 6 month deal is something he's specifically asked for..

No doubt. Treble well and trully on, played some fantastic football, great team balance, motivator, passionate, demonstrated on 4 consecutive occasions now that we're streaks ahead of the scum and hopefully by 5 o'clock tomorrow afternoon the first trophy in the bag!

we ditched TM last year because we played * and won nothing, WGS left after losing out on the league (and i think thats why he left), we cant lose another manager based on their success on paper. lennon has done a terrific job so far with some truly outstanding performances and signings, and were in with a decent shout for a treble. this is with all the added pressure that he has faced recently and the whole referees farse earlier on in the season.

    one neil lennon.

    ever the optimist, Rossenspeil lol.

i think he needs more security than a 6 month rolling contract and to be frank it's a bit of an insult to him in my eyes. regardless of how many trophies he wins at the end of the season, i think the club needs a settled approach to the team as we have had an extremely high player turnover the last couple of years. i want this team to stay together and want to see how far we can go under Lennon. this season after all is his foundation season. his laying the building blocks for the next few season at least.

i may be mistaken but weren't you complaining that you would rather watch attractive football at Celtic Park than what WGS offered during his reign? i think Lennon has more than delivered on that.

people saying no don't think he has not done a good job. They just mean they wana wait to give a contract. The question is about offering a new contract remember-specifically. Not asking whether people think he has done a good job or not.

100% agree, If at the end of the season we win * all people will be calling for his head. He has done great so far but he can still fall at the final hurdle

Lenny has already said he's not worried about the situation, the priority at this moment in time is winning football matches, you achieve success then you get rewarded :50:

Even if we come out without a trophy who in the right mind would want to start all over again next season? Neil has proven his worth in every big match since the team has gelled, the blips against accies n well were down to the players beleiving there on hype. Neil Lennon up against a h*** squad that will be without 5-6 key players next year, and then the best bit ALLY MCMOIST as manager :icon_mrgreen: Lenny has him panicking.
    Lennon must stay!!!!!

Lennon has done a great job. A few top drawer signings Hooper Kayal Izzy Commons Ledley.

A 1 year rolling contract means he always has 1 year left on his contract. It never runs out. So no need to sign another

Thought it was quite silly to give sami a 3 year deal and wilson a 1yr although i agree with the wilson due too injuries and so, but the board are willin to take a risk sami,so i thought that was harsh on willo considering his preformances this year. It could inspire sami to take his game on abit but on the other end of the stick it could see him loose his hunger not that he was ever starving, unless a big game was calling.
