obviously there is a big difference giving abuse and stuff to the huns and giving it back to OUR fans what a stupid comparison to make

What is a huge exaggeration? He should not be having a dig at the fans at all, never mind "only once", especially after everything they've done for him.

Would Gordon Strachan or Martin O'Neill stand on the touch line, whilst we are getting beat, (he should be more interested in shouting instructions to his team to win the game) and shout abuse back at a fan in the stand, before throwing a strop in the post match interview? I think not.

You saying anytime the team is criticized Lenny blows the top that's a huge exaggeration and if you can prove me wrong go ahead as for the everything we've done for him Lenny was a very successful footballer before he came here and all his past managers have said he was a natural manager in waiting because of his football intelligence if anything coming to Celtic had more negatives than positives when you look at the abuse he and has family suffered would any of us stuck it out I very much doubt. Also you clearly don't watch many games because he or his assistants are always shouting instructions to the team I'm sure in your job if somebody was shouting expletives at you or criticizing you unjustly you would be long in having words with him so what's the difference here other than it's football and I would hardly call it a strop he said nothing that isn't true if the fans don't want him or the team then what's the point in him sticking around

    Lol 25 pages long!

It just worries me that he cannot seem to turn this performance slump at home around, outside of Barcelona (which lets face it, any player/manager worth his salt should be up for) we have been pathetic for the majority at home.

Now I think, personally it is Lennon not managing the team properly, and by managing I mean squad rotation, tactical awareness and in general looking after the players fitness levels.

However, if you take note, through the majority of recent history the SPL teams find a way to stifle our managers after a few seasons, it happened to WGS and MON and if Lenny does not learn to switch it around a bit, it will happen to him.

Blowing the top, in scenarios and situations like this, even in this petulant manner is wrong. He needs to be a strong leader. Not a child.

For what its worth, I hope he turns it around quickly, because I would hate to see the squad he has build and work he has done be unraveled.

I never said every time the team is criticised Lennon loses the plot, the point I was making is that many Celtic managers and teams have come under scrutiny like this in the past, yet managers have not resorted to shouting abuse at fans.

Also your ridiculous assumption that I "clearly don't watch many games" is ignorant aswell as a complete and utter lie, as I've only missed attending 1 home game this season and have watched every away game on TV. You have completely missed my point yet again. I am well aware Lennon shouts instructions from the touch line, I'm not stupid. The point I was trying to make, was that when Lennon was shouting abuse at his own fan whilst we were losing 1-0. Surely his time would've been better spent doing his job an concentrating on the game.

As for your third point, suggesting that if someone shouts abuse or expletives at a player or manager then they would "not be long in having words back" is ridiculous also. If that was the case then you'd have 22 men on a pitch shouting abuse at fans all day long. Players take abuse all the time, Novo, Boyd, Ferguson would come to Celtic Park and have an entire stadium give them pelters, just the same as Lennon, Thommo would go to Ibrox and get the same treatment. Did they stop what they were doing and shout back? No, they just got on with it and that's what Lennon should've done on Saturday.

Was it Roman Abramovich by any chance?

Having reflected upon it, maybe this is Neil's way of getting the players to take some responsibility. I'd imagine they were as surprised as anyone else to hear him say this so hopefully it has an effect in time for Wednesday.

Why are people on here discussing Neil Lennon being directly abused verbally by Celtic fans...this did not happen as I pointed out earlier...a fellow season ticket holder shouted towards the pitch "this is Fukin rubbish" nothing toward Neil Lennon......
As for some of the other comments directed towards me I'll give you a bit of background about myself...I'm the guy behind the Barrhead St Marys big strip banner...which my wife made and modified for the Thai Tim's and likewise HMRC sponsor we have made numerous banners over the years for supporters bus including recently...cavendish 7-1 csc ... Lisbon Lions csc ...and previously....jungle boys...and kano foundation therefore the abuse directed last night was somewhat unusual and bemusing to say the least ....my teenage son is cheezer and I have posted the version of events as it happened with his permission and was disappointed seeing his face last night reading the comments posted towards him and think he took them quite personally .....I know we all say things spur of the moment when we're at the match and regret later but when your on a fan's forum you do have time to think before you type...some guys on this forum should excersize that privilege before exercising their fingers......hail hail

There are a lot of story tellers and trolls that go around this forum trying to stir * up.

I'm not saying your version of events is not true, however you can't really expect people to believe and trust you eh? Especially since the only time you have decided to really make a post in the couple of years since you joined and it's negatively about Lenny. Strange.

Stupid comments. You'd have to look very hard for a manager that is so loved and supported by the fans in world of football, I hope he realises that.

Reminds me of that spelling bullshit after Udinese game, even if it was heat of the moment stuff he needs to cut it out, it's very disrespectful towards fans who are being served with crap performances and results in the league.

Lenny and our team are not above criticism.

However I guess he feels our European exploits have earned a bit of patience from the fans! Not unreasonable!:shamrock:

I like Lennon, but this is not the first time he’s been involved in a confrontation with the supporters.

Didn’t something similar happen last season at Parkhead? Think it was in the first half of the season when we were going through an indifferent run of form.

It’s not acceptable. I have no problem with any other aspect of his character, if he wants to square up to referees or opposition players or managers, I’ll support him. But, abusing your own is not on.

Few posters on other Celtic forums have told the exact same story as this guy.
Also the guy in the pic wasn't the guy who Lennon gave a mouthfull too, that guy was pointing at the other guy and saying to Lennon "He's * right. This is pish".
He was similarly told to * off as well.

And the guy that got the mouthful in the first place wasn't even talking to Lennon when he got a mouthful! He just stood up and had a bit of a rant at the players on the pitch which Neil obviously didn't agree with (yet later did ).

The fact this has 26 pages is embarrassing.

Lennon won't actually quit. We didn't play well, yes. Lennon shouldn't have lost it with the fans, yes. Celtic will still win the SPL. We will, I reckon, be in the last 16 of the Champions League. Financially we are secure. Lennon has done a great job. We have some great players.

Yet let's all ignore that and get a bit * off that we are only top of the SPL by 1 point with a game in hand!!! Thread should just be shut, it's pointless.

Some fans really have to get this ''we will win the league anyway'' bullshit out of their heads. Because it is far from written in stone.

If we continue to play like this, we won't. Simple as that.

No one actually believes he's going to quit ffs :56::56::rolleyes:

The thread is 26 pages long because people are talking about the reason why our support is starting to become agitated with our poor performances at home in the league.
