I think it's petulant, he has to accept the crticism when the team plays crap as well as the praise when they play well.

It was a rotten performance and he got the substitutions wrong, the fans had every right to give the players pelters yesterday, we couldn't string 3 passes together.

That's why it won't happen. These results were caused by the players' attitudes to games they wrongly perceived as not important. We'll get a great performance at Tynecastle precisely because it is such a tough place to go, Arbroath is a cup game and the players know if they lose then they're out of the competition, players will give 110% in the CL decider and I am hopeful that Lenny will have solved the problem by the time we go to Killie on the 8th of December.

What do you mean we wont lose to arbroath?? can you predict the future?

Finishing 3rd in the CL isn't a disgrace but when you've made foolish mistakes for unknown reasons that cost us last 16 football then you've got to start questioning the decision making.

And it isn't a knee * reaction...it would be 3 wins in 12 games. (including 2 SPL defeats at home)

I am hoping he will solve the problem...but it is his problem.

I can't see any of our players being motivated against Arbroath before a CL game, especially at a deserted celtic park.

So because the fan is contributing to Lennon's wages that's ok for the fan to give stick to Lennon at the touchline like that? I don't think so pal. I'm sure if this man does work then he contributes to the pay of the emergency service's - does that mean he can berate them as well if they are trying to do their best?

I know fans are entitled to their views and such but to act that way when Lennon's trying to do his job is out of order because, like I said before, I very much doubt this fan was just giving a "constructive" viewpoint.

Any job really, mate. If someone came up to you, for instance, and was berating you for you trying your best at your job (regardless of who was paying your wages) I'm sure you'd not like it and that's really the point I was meaning :50:

    He accepts that himself.

They will want the trophy and know that if we lose, we're out. You're right that the low attendance and lack of GB might make things more difficult, though.

Some of you people talking about "abuse" etc sound like you have never been to a football match before.

No I can't predict the future but if you fancy sticking a few quid on Arbroath then I'll happily take the bet.

What foolish mistakes has Neil Lennon made in the Champions League? His tactics have been superb at that level. Were you watching the Barcelona games with your eyes closed?

If Celtic had won yesterday this thread would not exist. So yes it is a knee * reaction in my opinion.

fans pay alot (more than its worth) of money to see celtic play inverness. if were loosing we should be allowed to voice an opinion.

i think hes just frustrated, we havent won a game since we came back after a european game so its obviously annoying him and then took it out on the fan!
    really unprofessional

It's not entirely his problem at all as the players should take responsibility for how they play once on the pitch. Lennon can shout, alter tactics and make sub's but it's down to the players as well. Lennon can only do so much when the players are on the park.

If the players aren't motivated for ANY match then those players shouldn't be playing at Celtic.

He played unfit players against Barcelona as well. Nobody bumped their gums about it because we won.

Has Neil Lennon got more decisions right than wrong in the Champions League this season?

He's only human and he got frustrated. You'd have to be blind to think that this was his real feeling, he's a good manager in my opinion and that is what counts... The fact he got frustrated and took offence shows how ticked off he was with the performance anyway, the last thing he needed was for some idiot to go off his head at him.

I'm not justifying what he said I'm just saying it's understandable and I think no less of him because of it. He probably feels bad enough himself because I'm sure he loves this club and to say something like that he must have been really hurting. So leave the guy alone.

I was not joking when I said that btw.

"lennon was abused" etc - not one person even knows on here what the guy has said to Lennon - or indeed what Lennon has said back.

I for one would not assume that supporters around this guy would be too shy in giving him a crack to the jaw if all he did was stand there and call Lennon names.

I would be more inclined to say that the guy was voicing his concerns (and yes, using big bad sweary words) - and a frustrated Lennon has reacted (as seen by the picture).

His statement was mostly uncalled for also imo.

You can't either way because no one knows what was said.

    Who was unfit versus Barcelona??

Its not about getting more right than wrong...its about what he gets wrong...hes not Hearts' manager or Sevco's manager, hes our manager and he needs to cut out the stupid mistakes.
