lenny is no one's puppet. what an insult to the man.

he has made it clear the rebel songs sung at the games are an embarrassment to the club and players and some fans still refuse to accept what he has said.

how anyone can think singing the rebs motivate the team is beyond comprehension. keep the rebs for the pub and stop shaming the club. the war's over and it's time for peace.

    Where has Lennon said this?

He mentioned chants and singing, that doesn't mean cutting out all the rebel songs.

It's odd that you criticise someone for "not having evidence" then decide to perform some kind of character profile of those who disagree with you, without any evidence.

Care to answer any of the questions we have put to you? Like why do you suddenly care for Lennon when not even two weeks ago you wanted him sacked and removed?

Is that anymore insulting that you making speeches on his behalf then?

He has made NOTHING clear on what exactly they do not want to be sung.

It's odd that you care to make posts without actually reading on what you are replying:rolleyes:

Firstly, I made a sentence with a ? on the end of it...this means it is a question:50:

Secondly, I gave an OPINION...not a statement......which is what Mr. Rapdup has been doing on behalf of the majority of the Celtic support, Neil and Peter Lawwell :bbpd:

really? which rebel songs are appropriate to be sung at a football ground representing a club that wants to be open to all regardless of creed or colour?
    as neil lennon says:
“Celtic is rightly proud of its unique history and also of its open, inclusive and welcoming spirit. It is this which we hold dear.
“While we are delighted with the support we have received throughout the season, it is very important that we ensure Celtic is always a positive club for all.
“We know it has been a very difficult season for Celtic and we all know what has gone on. However, we must ensure we do all we can to uphold the club’s reputation.
“In recent times, unfortunately, there has been a re-emergence, from a small minority, of some of the singing and chanting which is simply not acceptable around our club.
This has no place at Celtic Park or at any of our matches and it must be tackled. All this does is tarnish the great name of Celtic and embarrasses the club.”

if you dont think neil lennon is referring to rebel songs you're living in denial.

no one is taking anyones wrights or freedom of choice away ,its like some guest in your house doing something you dislike ,you ask them to stop ,if they dont you ask them to leave.
celtic and lenny only ask you not to chant these offensive words in the stadium ,these chants will be the rod used to beat us with.
we cant say we are offended by their bile but then say ours is not offensive to others as this is a slightly biased view, lets do wot they wont ,lets look at and deal with our own problem .

You dodged the question again Radup, Lennon has not made it clear and I reckon he's talking about the IRA chants, not all of the rebels. Lennon has not directly referred to the rebels, so your previous statement that he had made it clear that rebel songs are an embarrassment, was incorrect.

fair dos weirdos was a bit out of order:50: The point I was making that truely separate Irish catholic and Scottish protestant populations do not exist in the east and to be honest due to intermarriage that is true too even in the west. I just dont really understand why some people who are mixed chose to overwhelmingly ignore Scottish history, identity, songs, culture etc and focus on the Irish stuff. I think while its totally understandable to celebrate the clubs immigrant roots it is too predominant almost to the exclusion of Scottish stuff. Why are people more interested in Irish freedom 100 years ago but rarely make any noise about Scotland right now with its peaceful drift towards independence. Its really a matter of balance. Scotland has its own stirring history, great traditional songs, music, Gaelic culture etc but this is all ignored.

It's actually a matter of choice Gunt...

I'm pretty sure human beings are capable of making their own decisions.........If I prefer 'Roll of Honour' to 'Donald wears yur troosers' etc......i am more than entitled to do so.

Scotland will never achieve Independance as long as Alex Salmond is in charge (As his 'White Paper' still plans on keeping The Qween as head of state!).
