if a list of banned songs are compiled and it contains rebel songs will the club be chastised and will the list be ignored. if it is ignored then the fans who ignore it will leave the club open to points deductions and banned from europe where then for the club.

Jeannie, absolutely not! You contributed a more than fair point, and I regret to say your opinion is the opinion of the majority in my belief.

I was commenting on a few people who seem to want to start arguments that nobody is looking for. It's a very sensitive subject and people should know that calling people like Bobby Sands and Mairead Farrell terrorists is quite antagonistic, as well as being far to simplistic anyway!

I have said all I want is for the Republican sympathisers/supporters be allowed to sing songs which have been sung for decades at CP. We are not ashamed nor will we ever be ashamed of those songs.

Of course I get wound up in defence of my view point and sometimes I get carried away. As you say "unity" is important right now and we are all Celtic fans.

Well said this man, good post Padraig.

You can count on me and many others to carry on proud tradition, I for one, will not be influenced by the media or anyone else putting pressure on us to clamp down our singing of these songs.

On the news again about the youth cup final with the orcs singing their usual * but some of our fans singing up the ra makes you want to give up . The media shows us up in the same light as them because of a very few mindless idiots .

That's the point, you can't compare songs that glorify the IRA, to the songs that the huns are belting out on a weekly basis. There is just no comparison.

If the media are doing so, then they are wrongly doing so. It wouldn't be the first time that the media tried to make something an 'Old Firm problem'.

    Again, there's just no comparison.

Know I don't. I asked you what you meant by that and you wouldn't tell me. I even said to Smell The Glove I thought your comment was racist.

It's stupid to jump in reading only 1 post like that. Someone referred to me and people who hold my opinion as "you and your like" then suggested it was nothing and I was being over dramatic. He suggested by "your like" he was just meaning Celtic fans, no insults. My response (the one up there) was showing how derogatory that is. Does it sound like I'm telling MP to stay with Celtic fans? No. That was my point.

great statement from lenny and i strongly agree we should rap the ira stuff as the authorities(strathclyde police) dont understand the meaning of most of the songs yet they are quick to jail you for singing them, or having a flag or a scarf. I think parkhead should put up some signs clearly staten what is and isn't allowed to be sung worn or waved.

I told you it meant nothing, because that's what the poster who said "you and your like" to me said "your like" meant.

Jump in? It's not that hard to read previous posts now is it?

If you read my post, I was aiming it at comments, in general in this thread which I find to be ridiculous...........

    Is that okay?

Somehow I'm not sure that my comrade Smell The Glove would be subjective on this matter!!!
    :56:

For the record, I think he was trying to wind us up rather than anything sinister.

The only thing I want to end is fans who know nothing about Republicanism or the history belting 'Up the Ra' whenever it takes their fancy. I am not suggesting all fans should have to take a lesson is Irish Republicanism just that if your going to sing these songs take the time to have a wee read or look online so that you fully understand what your are singing about.
