Oh I know, some people define themselves by the kind of attributes that everyone else likes to parody us with.

And so we come back to point 1. We've ran the full circle like I predicted. Relevance. You're saying the IRA are relevant at CP?

You know what I sing rebs every * day and honestly all these wee bams greeting about rebels need to grow some * bawsacs.

Our club was made purely down to supply dinners to irish immigrants that were starving due to the immigration BRITIAN inflicted on Ireland aka the "holocaust".

Now with that reason MANY of our support sing rebels due to the history the British army has murdered the irish people and why our club is made. Our club ISNT connected with the IRA, we have a LARGE amount of support who sympathize with the IRA and their actions. The IRA is history in Ireland. The only ones who is offended by IRA songs are the ones who do not like rebellion against terrorists simple as that.

If you believe all rebs are banned goodbye with flower of scotland aswel. GROW UP!!! :38:

By alienating a section of people and derogatorily (intentionally or not) referring to them as "you're kind" then that is what you're implying. Maybe you should think more about what you write if what you think is not coming across properly.

I sing rebels songs which makes me the better fan. :56:

I don't know anyone that thinks like this. The only people who post comments like this are the one's not singing rebel songs.

I dont agree its ancient history..& i wouldnt like to sit discussing the ins & outs of Irish poiltical history either..dont think anyone does that at games though.

I will however keep singing rebel songs & thankfully most of my fellow fans seem to enjoy that too. but if they dont then thats up to them im not gonna tell them what to do.. if they dont agree with me then theres many options open to them.

By your kind i was merely referring to the kind that does not like Celtic fans singing Irish rebel songs nothing more nothing less

And im not trying to aienate anyone i think you will find it is you that is trying to get me & "my kind" to stop doing what we are doing not vice versa.

And please again tell me where do you get the fact that i said sub-humans?? you still didnt answer that

This part is the only bit relevant to the club in the modern day. People need to move on. How can you not see that singing anti-British songs, or rather songs about a conflict between "us" (I use the term loosely) and the British, about events from 120 years ago is going to foster some anti-British feelings today? Exhibit A: Smell the glove!

I don't want to be part of Britain anymore, as a Scot, but I don't think singing about how the British Army was terrible in Ireland a hundred years ago is serving any good.

Can't believe you just told me to grow up after layering your post with insults. BUT ANYWAY, I know all that. Well, I knew most of that, the parts directly relating to Celtic, anyway. Yet I still don't see the irrepressible need for this to be our identity. I don't see the irrepressible need for our fans to sing these songs every week. I guess I'm never going to see the need for it... and you know what? I'm happy to regard CP as a place where politics does not belong. Cya.

Dunno, apparently it doesn't mean anything, just like when oran used the phrase. Stop being over dramatic :56:

    over dramatic ??

what like comparing being tripped up as a kid as being like 800 years of war with a bit of famine thrown in ?? or me saying "your like" being inferred as calling you & others who disagree with the singing of rebels "sub-human"
