If true I wouldn't be as opposed to Meling, still think it's a very average signing.

Cosgrove would be completely leftfield and has Lennon type of signing all over it, physical, brutish. Great for SPL as a backup but not much beyond that.

McKenna, again, SPL quality. Got shown up on international level.

Anyway, will see if his sources come up trump's again or it remains a false signal. Two out the three are sevco level signings. Not sure what Celtic are up to these days.

 

Cosgrove??? Surely after Bayo this weekend we dont need another striker? Three good options and Afolabi behind them should be enough.

McKenna and Taylor above Melling for me. Somehow i like both of them. McKenna as a backup and Taylor gets good reports from credible sources. But not for the silly money their clubs ask obviously.

I would like to hope it remains a rumor and nothing else. When you have average SPL players with an average SPL manager/coaches you are asking for trouble.

 

It would be interesting to find out if all the board wanted Lennon, - I’m sure Lawwell did, - from his point of view he’s certainly more malleable than others would have been, anyway I’m not convinced, purely because of the timescale.

I’m positive if we’d lost to Hearts he wouldn’t have got it.

My main point was that I’d like to see Dermot Desmond step in/appoint someone else to oversee the scouting etc.

Peter Lawwell seems incapable of doing this himself. It’s always hard, hard work.

I wasn’t wanting(necessarily) Dermot to put in more money. I know he’s simply a shareholder.

 

Lawell and Desmond want profits for shareholders nothing else...they are happy to see Celtic running ahead sometimes, but occasionally stopping to let other teams catch up, as has been shown this season with the questionable signings and management. They play it on the wire, just enough to keep fans happy but more than enough to keep shareholders happy.

 

I see your point mate. Tbh not appointing a chief scout in the first place shows how badly run our recruitment process is.

 

Don't need a scout for disco lights and a hotel but...
