If anybody does come in, and that's a big if, it won't be players that go straight in and improve the team. It will be development players and a loanee on stupid wages who won't settle until after Xmas and then finds himself warming the bench

I think we'll get a LB in and a loan either at winger or midfield, but that leaves a big gaping hole at RB. There are no concrete rumours there and with Ajer doing well i fear it'll be Elhamed and Ajer at RB until January

 

Think we take Taylor, then I think we paper the cracks with decent loan signings who we need to be able to offer European football before they sign . Taylor in before Thursday, then a few loans over the weekend

Ankersen wanted 20k, considering lustig was on nearer 30k, that's a good thing, if memory serves me right the fee was around 2million?

Had we just 'got it done' back then, we could have still brought in elhamed as a versatile player who can play RB and CB and suddenly there is two positions fixed.

Fans are asking for cash to be released, but we aren't asking for a team full of 40k+ wages in every position.

Some times money does need to be spent.

Had we got Perrud in at 1.8million and approx 15k a week, again cheaper than Tierney and we knew fine well he was for the off. Short sighted and stupid not to have went for that, all the while boli still could have been signed and the loss of Izzy and Tierney is not an issue.

Just those two signings done 6 weeks ago would have still have seen the wage budget lower, saw a massive transfer boost from Tierney, would see the backline completely fixed at this point and the Cluj game could have been a whole lot different.

3.8million and 35-40k a week on two players, sorted 6 weeks ago and oh how this window could have been different.

Hardly a stretch or unreasonable thing considering our finances

I can't understand why Lennon would say all this crap? I cant make sense of it.

He has countless times been made out a liar this window so he's either taking the * or he's being seriously let down himself.

If it's the second one (more than likely) surely he's learned to say * all to the media??

 

Lustig was on nowhere near 30k per week.

 

Just checked (quick Google, nothing majorly reliable) was on 24k a week 3 years ago with us. That will have been his contract deal, which I would hazard has some Claus for an increase per year...even without that, 24k is near enough to 30k for me to not be "nowhere near" and is certainly more than what Ankersen was chasing.

Either way it’s unacceptable.

If there’s a hard way of doing something - Peter Lawwell will find it.

One of the main reasons for Lennon getting the job was his supposed eye for a player.

On the face of it, even with Hammond joining, it looks like nothing much has changed. Jullien had been scouted under Rodgers, Elhamed obviously came via Dahan.

I’d like to see Dermot Desmond step in because things only seem to properly improve when he gets * off.

 

Be very surprised to see Desmond step in. He's one if the reasons Lennon got the job in the first place and obviously isn't willing to help with investment.
