I don't think many could have expected him to do as well as he has, but to watch what he has been up to for the past 18 months and still stick to the idea he isn't a top class player is daft. The thing is clear to me. Griff is better than Hooper, who was also very good. The simple fact that the wee man has a brilliant attitude about Celtic is also important. As others have said, it is time to get right behind him.

Griff doesnt have " the tools " to do well in the EPL?

He is quick , direct , can score solo goals , team goals , headers, tap ins , free kicks , 30 yarders , can come out wide and whip in corners , makes intelligent runs , is clinical , hard working , passionate and getting better and better. And is still only 25. Other than that he is missing many attributes .

I was happy when we bought Griff, I seen his displays for hibs where he was outstanding and saved them from relegation.

He scored 28 goals for them.

The signs that he had ability and great potential were there and he has surpassed my expectations 40 goals in one season is huge. Thats why i cant figure out why he is still not good enough for some

I see so all he has to do now is change his name to Leigh-Rik Larsson and he will be a legend :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

I don't mean prejudice against the working class but rather against a certain part of it. Pretty much the same part that gets labelled "chavs", I guess.

If Jamie Vardy can come out of nowhere and score 24 goals in that division I see no reason why Griffiths, in a decent side which creates chances, would not do very well.

Stop talking him up for the EPL FFS. Any chairmen of other clubs on talkceltic. Please take note Leigh will never do it in England, this is a flash in the pan and he doesn't score in Europe.:50:

It's a far better ball because it's a harder pass to make. Hooper had to thread the pass through the eye of a needle. It was inch perfect. Griffiths had plenty space to put the ball over the top into. It didn't have to be the perfect pass for Sinclair to get onto. It was still a great ball, but it's nowhere near as difficult a pass to make, not even close in fact. I'm not sure if you played football at any sort of level, but I can only assume you haven't if you think Griffiths pass is the better of the two. That's not me trying to be an * either by the way.

Yeah, that pass from Hooper was sensational, plus the turn was pretty good as well.

On balance I'd still rather have Griffiths, though.

I can see why people would now to be honest. Griffiths game is improving all the time. I have said all along that I preferred Hooper in his time here, but I'm split on that now. As I've said a few times, they both bring different attributes to the table. Combine their games, and you would have a first class striker.

Nah mate, more of a tiddlywinks guy.

The control and turn from Hooper was superb, the ball was run of the mill. Griffiths ball to Sinclair on Wednesday was an absolute peach, the spin took it right into his path.

However, I'd presume given your answer you were normally last picked in PE. And my Dad is bigger than yours as well.

I think they're on the same level now, which I am delighted about. Griffiths is improving season on season though and if he keeps up this level in Europe, there will be no doubt.

He's going up a level and with how hardworking he is and Brendan Rodgers as manager I'm sure there's more to come.

Most importantly for me the burden isn't all on him now, which will free him up. Sinclair, Roberts, Rogic and most importantly Dembele are all goalscorers. They are all players.

This year will be Griff's again.

I actually think the pass Griffiths had on Wednesday was a fairly simple pass to make. Plenty room over the top of the defence, and he had margin for error. With Hooper's, he had to thread it in between two defenders, with exactly the right pace on the pass.

I done the picking in PE mate :86:
