    Nah not for me.

Hooper even had a better Euro record to further confirm it for me, Griffiths looks out his depth in Europe, big time.

I'm sure I read he has a 1 in 2 starts record in Europe.

So he works hard? * brilliant, give him a 10 year contract. Hard work should be the bare minimum.

The fact that he wants to score so much is actually a hindrance at times. Because he ends up shooting from * everywhere when there's a pass on.

We're still seeing people bashing a striker who'* almost 40 goals for us this season?

Not bashing him. Just trying to open people's eyes and show that he's not what is required for a team with aspirations of the CL group stages.

Sorry mate, but a striker in his mid 20's who can hit the number of goals he can is always required.

If we can somehow snare a player who's capable of 40 goals a season, possesses a high-quality all-around game, and who can perform to a high level in Europe then by all means, let's get him signed up as well!

But to say that someone like Griffiths isn't required is * mental.

I mean as our number one striker. He'd be a great back up.

I'm not asking for someone who can score 40 and has a top class all round game. As we've been comparing them, Hooper never scored 40. But he was just a far better player who contributed in more ways than putting the ball in the back of the net.

I like Griffiths but I think expecting him to be a loan striker in Europe, or in any game where we wont dominate possession, is ridiculous. It just doesn't work.

We need someone more suited to that role, or even someone who can play alongside him.

Like I said, if there's someone else out there that fits that bill then get them signed up.

Since Griffiths has been here though he's seen off the likes of Pukki, Balde, Šćepović, Tonev, Ciftci, Cole and Richards.

All of them were brought in and none of them could oust him. It's up to any new signing to prove they're more worthy of being the number one striker, and to do that they'll need to better what Griffiths has done.

Yeah our scouts don't half make an * of it when it comes to identifying strikers.

    Man, that's a depressing list.

And most of them cost more than Griffiths did.

Im deluded? We just went two seasons without a goalscoring striker, relying on Johansen and Commons and im deluded?
Let me guess, you would have Sammy back, right?
His hard work has clearly paid off, hence his goals tally. Actually i would give him a long term contract, because he will consistently give us 20+ league goals a season; something so many other have failed to do.

Go on then, tell me how you came to that diagnoses then pal.

Your comparing a player in a team with far more strength and creative ability.
Your thickle as *. Are you saying Hooper would have done a better job in this team? I was a huge Hooper fan. But you underrate Griffiths. Your talking about a player who was already proven in this league before we signed hin.

The thing for me about Griffiths was always his attitude. I felt that in previous years and at previous clubs his attitude left a lot to be desired, mostly off the park.

He's now seemingly screwed the nut, and to me he's the ideal domestic level striker.

Kazim up next to him either as a striker or inside forward and Rogic behind him, both have excellent hold up play and can feed Griffiths.

We need a new striker anyway, someone with that extra bit of quality.

Excellent player and I'd be happy with him as our main striker next year.

I've said this hundreds of times but the only reason folk are giving him stick and overanalysing him to * is because he's our only option.

He's a superb centre forward , simple as that . Has been prolific at every club he has played , none more so than here .
