Best striker since Hooper. Hardest working player at the club, possibly bar Johansen.

    Correct.
Ive always liked him and thought he was a cracking cheap option, but he seemed an unpopular choice among most in here, so i have never fought his corner so to speak.

Cracking wee player who will go on to be loved by all the fans.(imo)

Great to see his desire to make an impact, frustrated after being subbed at the weekend great way to bounce back.

His attitude has been first class and to think some were saying loan him to Hibs at Christmas.:56:

Sometimes two up front is needed against teams like Killie, would like to see Ronny try this from the start now and again.

Another striker or two still required tho.

Agree with throwing a 2nd striker into some of the games. Teams are becoming accustomed to the way we set up and play. A 2nd striker will mix it up a bit and give their defence something else to think about. More effective against teams that are sitting in against us perhaps?

It's hard to believe that we have such a talent on our hands and it seems like he was 5mins away from going on loan and pretty much ending any chance with us. Deila obviously saw a desire to improve in him and it's well documented that he thinks he has a world class shot.

No matter what you say about the opposition he's scoring against, you can't argue with the quality of his goals. That 2nd goal was unstoppable no matter who the goalkeeper is, and he is surprisingly good with his head. He's turning into an all round quality striker, not just another Derek Riordan, who relied on his shooting ability.

Genuinely surprised at the reaction by some on here. Griffiths is exactly the type of player we should be signing i.e someone with raw talent that we can mould into a top player. We can't afford anyone else with his attributes.

Since he signed for us he has played 2689 minutes of football scoring 22 goals, averaging a goal every 122 minutes played :50:

Actually more prolific than Hooper who averaged a goal every 133 minutes for us, although Hooper played many minutes in Europe.

That's an incredible rate from a player who wasn't even played up front for a lot of those minutes. And very few (any?) were penalties. I think it's time to give him an extended run in the team to see what he is really capable of.

Surprising that, I know Hooper played a lot more games but Griffiths is nowhere near as clinical, even last night he probably should have had 4. Good save right enough.

He looks as if he's been working hard on the training pitch, sharp as a tack.

I still think he's a more effective option off the bench for Celtic but I hope that changes.

I think it's notable that that's probably his best performance this season and it came in a 2 man attack, think every single one of our strikers is better suited to a two man attack.

Hooper would sometimes go through a run of 3 or 4 games without a goal, but play every minute in the games, but then could easily go on a great scoring run.

Got to say I totally had no hope for him; thought he would go the way of Riordan and disappear back down the road to the English second division or some *. But he has recognised his opportunity and seems to be going for it, and is responding well to Deila's methods. It's been a great season for him.

I have been calling for Gordon to our POTY all season closely followed by Stefan. However I think Leigh deserves a mention too. He will likely be our top scorer this season and he deserves enormous credit given that he was frozen out for a while. Leigh Griffiths has been busting his * for us from his first day at the club.

    Agree he deserves a mention.

Didn't you say Gordon was overrated?? :97: with regards to qualification form the EL group stages??

No. But people have a habit of attributing views to me that are false. I have even said that Gordon may be better than Boruc and Forester.

That was somebody else I'm sure, kept saying he wasn't good enough. Had a real bee in his bonnet about it.
