Legia is not going to be suing Celtic. It is UEFA they are after.
you dont see them selling T-shirts saying * Celtic. nobody on Legia's side is blaming you. *, nobody in Polish media is blaming you. All the blame is going to UEFA. Its the Norwegian football coach who assigned a blame partially to Celtic.
Of course they are not going to win but I do think the rule is going to be changed. Unfortunately there is always someone who gets hurt before a bad rule is identified. unfortunately, this time it was Legia

Legia fans ruined it when they stopped crying, now they're just annoying us :54:

Who said we should allow that? The rule makes sense; the "one size fits all" punishment doesn't. The punishment should be more flexible to fit the intention. Deliberately playing an ineligible player to gain an advantage should definitely result in a forfeit; forgetting to put a name on a form should result in a wrist slap.

I rarely drink and certainly haven't touched a drop tonight.

The threads dead. Just a few bitter Poles and Celtic fans stupid (or graceful) enough to give them the time of day. But it's been one * of a laugh!

I agree with all of that. Good luck getting it changed and hopefully compensation. I mean that genuinely.

How many years have you watched football?

How many times have you seen players trying to gain an advantage by diving or going down easily, putting their hand up for a throw in knowing it wasn't their throw and so on?

Small decisions are contested to the end.

Do you think any team would turn down a far bigger opportunity to gain a far bigger prize? Not a single team in the world would.

Let's not forget that UEFA made this decision. They would look incredibly stupid and lose credibility if they tried to apply their own rules and one of their member teams defy the rules that UEFA put in place.

The decision does seem harsh, but the same decision has been made for various teams in various competitions before.

It was a bad error Legia made, but let's not forget it was a Legia mistake that opened up the chance for this to happen.

Solbakken can say that, but he provides no evidence we were ever given that option and there is no precedent for anyone being given that option in this situation. As Vert said, why should we step aside for Maribor?

Yes, change "is" to "may" from next year. That would definitely be the common sense solution.
