The most league goals he's ever scored in a season is 15.

There's an old rule of thumb that I tend to go by - if a player has never done something, don't count on them doing it.

It applies to people who said Kevin Doyle would 'score for fun' here (despite having never scored for fun - anywhere. It applies to Sammy because as much as a rate him as a left winger, evidence suggests he would not score 35 goals for another SPL team. I don't think he's even had a season in his career when he's scored half as many.

No he's not. The logic isn't hard to follow.

Speaking to a boro fan on twitter saying he looked pretty distracted during the first half, and he's not appeared at all for second, not on the pitch or the bench. He also said Ferguson said they want around £12m for him though, so, * knows what's going on. I don't think we'd even pay a quarter of that.

I'm aware of that, as I keep saying - I don't think we should be signing Billy Mckay.

My post was in relation to you saying Samaras would score 35 goals a season. He has never scored even half that amount which suggests, 35 goals a season may be a slight exaggeration on your part.

 

Doesn't exactly inspire confidence in me but if they think he can do the job then why not. Still, not a name that I would have picked.

 

He has never played against bad opposition for a bad team though like McKay has. A player with the pace, dribbling and ability in the air like Samaras would run amok in a Hibs V St Mirren game or Inverness V Kilmarnock game because in those games teams play open football and allow players space and time.

I think Samaras could score a goal a game on average if he played for any other SPL side.

 

So your point that we wouldn't have a proven playmaker at a good level as your defence of possibly signing Tomlin is just daft, as he's, as you admit, unproven at a good levelalso. We have Rogic, we don't need another to play there in my opinion.

 

I would like the added competition. He is proven at Championship level against better teams than we face in the SPL, scored a hat-trick against Reading this season.

Tomlin has a better Championship record than Commons or Stokes, two of our best players.

 

Would be disappointed if this was true and this is who we are after
