I'm not having a go at you btw, I'm having a go at the club for even entertaining this prospective signing. It doesn't look likely that he will join and thank *. We could've went for guys like Russell, Hosiner etc yet were looking at this mug. I just thought we would be aiming higher, especially since we are now in the group stages, all that extra dosh and glamour etc.

So a slightly more effective yet fatter version of McCourt - the perennial fringe player.

We don't need squad players. We will win the league at a canter with what we have. Should be looking for players that will improve us/break into the starting 11.

A bid during the game unsettled him?

Did they hold up a board telling him or have the crowd form the message in the stands? :smiley-laughing002:

McCourt couldn't lace this guys boots. He's getting good reviews down south and attracting attention. Give the boy a break. Everyone deserves chance to improve them self if they've shown ability

He's a better squad player than most who would be considered that IMO....so yes, we do.

tbf he could improve himself by just hitting the treadmill though, no need for him to come here to do it.

Correct, but to get these type of players you have to pay top dollar, our board are not prepared to do this though.finnbo for me is a no brainer, buy him for 6 mill even if he flops you would still get probley about 3mill back, which I don't think he would, if a success he would probley go to the prem for about 15 mill.

maybe he is our CL signing.......

i am sure the sight of him will stop Messi in his tracks. In fact the opposition might be laffin so hard that the rest of our team can take advantage.

So you think he's better than Tony Watt? Why are we loaning him out and looking at bringing in this *. We've got plenty of decent squad players that are still young and developing; Rogic, Mcgeouch, Atajic, Forrest when he doesn't start as well. Also Boerrigter is in the picture now, and the new Israeli lad. Add Puki to that, we've got enough depth for the SPL ffs.

Haha I thought you were saying that I was standing up for him being a good player. I don't think he looked horrible, and yes, he's scored some nice goals, but he's not who I expected Celtic would go in for, to go in for him alongside Buttner is embarrassing imo - Buttner, yes, League 1 English players, no. I've always been prepared to be let down regarding the Finnbogason scenario, just this talk of a "big name" player being signed has * me off with less than 4 hours to the deadline and no sign of something happening. Just the fact that Peterborough are being incompetent just makes me feel like telling them to * off, we're giving the guy a massive opportunity. I honestly think he looks like a wee * who thinks he's better than he is. I just wish we could bring in a proven player that's actually played multiple games in the CL, probably just looking for too much at this stage.

Yes, he probably is. He's not same type of player though....as folk who had seen him play would know.

The league they play in is irrelevant. See hooper and many other players for us down the years

Guy outside Celtic Park for Sky Sports just said Buttner and Tomlin deals looking unlikely BUT something could happen with the few hours left. Also confirmed Watt close to Belgium move.

I agree. I'm not looking for 7 million signings right left and centre. We needed to replace Hooper anyway, regardless of getting to the group stages, so Pukki was a given anyway. Aye if we never made the group stages people might have said well why do we need a replacement. The fans would stop showing up in numbers if we hadn't done that.

But with the money we have made from getting to the group stages along with the extra money we can get from a win and a draw, along with gate receipts, you're talking about a guaranteed 5 million even if it all goes * up on the pitch. So another 2-3 million pound player at least or another young cheap gem like we've been doing. Not some dumpling from the league 1.

If the lad was 17-20 and had a really decent goal scoring record then ok, it's for the future and he will improve, but this guy is 24, out of shape, his record is nothing special. It's just dissapointing.
