I think he has a role to play for us next season. Deffo a player there, we get the right manager in next season he will come on leaps and bounds.

It's promising that he's played at both right back and defensive mid and getting praise for both. Versatility is always useful.

It's these sort of players we should be testing early and seeing what they can contribute.

We brought in so much young talent with the likes of him and Connell etc, we need to start playing them. Right now coming into next season rb is a role that will need filled. Give the lad a fair shot

The guy needs a genuine shot under the new manager in the summer. Has done everything that's been asked of him on loan at Tranmere. [IMG]

Not having a go bud, im really not. But do you think if he was english youd be saying the same thing?

I hope your right, he does seem rated under the Irish set up, and he was on the bench for Man utd first team games.

But why wasnt he giving some game time? And why not a higher level than tranmere on loan?

Some really similar traits with luca connell in how hes been handled by the club.

    I take your point and I've seen more of him maybe as he had been hyped up a bit in Ireland as he was doing well at united and a strong Ireland underage team. He is the current Ireland under 21 player of the year in a group that has these players who are established senior players now at their clubs;

Kelleher (Liverpool) played pl and cl
Dara O'Shea (west brom) 2 season starting CB
Molumby (Brighton) 2 season playing (Millwall/Preston)
Jason knight (derby) 2 seasons starting
Aaron Connolly (Brighton) 2 seasons starting
Adam idah (Norwich) consistent game time 2 seasons
Parrott (spurs) couple prem games/ on loan Ipswich.

Klopp backed kelleher to step in in prem and cl when Allison was injured. Bilic backed O'Shea starting for west brom when they were pushing for promotion, lampard/cocu/Rooney all backed knight starting midfield for derby. But Lennon would rather have started Ryan Christie RB than play a young "unproven" player. He played Duffy all year getting roasted leaving Welsh in the stands.

The loans across the board at the club are abysmal but considering Robertson's second half to season O'Connor probably the best loanee across the season.

I hope and pray some of the lads loaned out can come back and impress the new manager to take a bit of work of the rebuild. Hopefully this lad can prove himself to be a reliable right back

What didn't help O'Connor was his poor loan at Partick Thistle who were relegated to league 1..

Isn't exactly gonna get you back and in and around our first team..

I've no idea how good he is..

Danny McNamara who is a sub RB for Ireland u21s went on loan from Millwall to st Johnstone. It went so well for him he was recalled at Christmas and is in the Millwall team now. If Millwall can get Danny McNamara a loan to st Johnstone what are Celtic doing with players they wanna get out on loan. It just seems completely rag ball rovers how we treat our younger players and their development

Aye we're certainly no getting our player's the best loan's at either the right level or the team best suited. You look at Henderson at Ross County last season for a prime example..

There's no way Henderson has played European game's, bossed it at home to the likes of Motherwell and diets away and yet no one wants him in the top flight because of a poor loan spell for an ultra negative County side..

Same for Connell as well. Excels as a left winger almost for Bolton in the championship 2 year ago but can't get a top flight move in Scotland? Come on..

We're failing in so many way's in how we deal with our academy boy's. No wonder many have jumped ship this season..

I think in terms of development a club like tranmere is a perfect club to go to, relatively small squad where every player is valued and relied upon, rather than go to a higher league club with their own youth prospects pushing for places not to add to their bloated squads. Tranmere is a much better option than any Scottish team outwith the top 8 of the spfl clubs. Watching grown men kick lumps out of him, or a better standard of football with promotion hopes?

Hopefully our new manager will actually give these young guys a chance to show what they can do.

Top flight club's in our league sometimes shop in the English 'conference' league's..

If he's no around a top flight club in our league next season, release him..
