I'll reserve judgement till I see him with the hoops on. Although I would be lying if I said I was happy to be raiding Championship clubs for players.

I'm not interested in the precieved reputation of a player or the preceived reputation of a club, that costs money. If he is good enough, we'll know very quickly.

Mark Wilson came from Dundee Utd for £500,000. I think he's real quality

Never seen him, but I dont think a $600,000 defender is the answer...

Not sure how often a team and their scouting staff can strike for a low fee guy like that and come up aces .... filling a spot this important to the team, I dont think they can depend on that kind of a gamble to see if it works out. We need an expeirenced proven guy back there with no doubts.

Sorry but I can't agree with that. Wilson is only 19 and has great potential. Dundee UTD are * poor and can't afford to haggle. In the SPL, £500'000 is a lot of money.
Wolves, on the other hand are not * poor and £600'000 in the Championship is not a lot of money. Naylor is 26 and if he had anything like top flight qualities, he would have been picked up by now(you would, at least, know his name).
Fact is, he's the cheapest eligible left back under 30 in Europe and THAT'S the reason we're targeting him.

Agreed but already the pish has started about this guy? the fact is we cant compete with the premier league teams in terms of finances. the same people who are calling for kadlec are prob putting the boot in on Naylor before he's even kicked a ball but probably havent seen either play.

So would u rather they spent an extra 1mm on getting a left back as opposed to spending it on other areas? ie striker??

FFS if WGS had the money to spend do u not think he would do so? The new Sky deal has inflated prices again already & will probably continue to
for the forseeable future. The SPL is unfortunately a million miles away from the EPL in terms of finances - the sooner people wake up to the fact the better

Wolves dont want to sell him, they consider him a key player to their success. Sounds like the Kadlec deal all over again

    Defender switch agreed!!!

Wolves' chief executive Jez Moxey has confirmed that long serving defender Lee Naylor is on his way to Celtic in a cash-plus-player exchange.Earlier in the week Wolves rejected Celtic's £600,000 bid for the player, but Naylor and his agent have told the club that he wants to move on.Moxey told the club website: "A couple of weeks ago Celtic called out of the blue with a £400,000 offer for Lee. We believe that their interest was sparked by his former team mate at Wolves Kenny Miller. The verbal offer, which was subsequently made in writing, was immediately refused."We have spent several months with Lee and his agents discussing terms of a new four year contract for him, and as the player knows, we agreed to the terms he said he wanted.

"Three or four days ago Celtic made a second verbal offer - this time for £600,000 - but we again said that we didn't want to sell Lee.

"However, as the player has told us that he is desperate to move to Celtic, we have reluctantly agreed to let him go providing Celtic can meet our valuation.

"We have told them that we will agree to their second cash offer plus one of three of their players in whom we are interested.

Hmmm, wonder who they are after!?

I'm sure that would take the cost over £1 million.

I think possibly Stan Varga? Looks as if Naylor will be signing though, would be good to see a video with him in action to get an idea of what standard he's at. Any going about?
