My POTY. A real box-to-box midfielder. I also think he'll get on the end of a few more next season. One of the best signings by Celtic in forever.

Ledley is an absoluetly cracking player! the only time he was 'pish' was when he was being played out of position at left back at the begging of the season!!!! POTY in my opinion :50:

In my opinion, Joe Ledley is up there with the best midfielders we've had over the last few years. His passing is great and he keeps everything simple, no crazy long balls everytime, I like him as a player and seems to be a cracking bloke in person too.

see to be honest .. i dont think he's as great a player as everyone is making out.

he does his job well, by all means, but this is what his 10 team mates should be doing too. he just sticks out alot more because the team still has some flaws.

got a feeling im going to get flamed here, but thats just what i think. hes a decent player who does his job, we should have more players like him.

    He doesn't stick out though.

I bet off the top of their heads no one could recollect a time he made a poor pass, that's a testament to how tidy a footballer he is.

Classy player, reminds me a lot of a left footed Lambert which is never a bad thing.

Keeps possession, can pass, can get forward, incredible work rate, passionate, gets stuck in and has set up a couple goals vs the huns. Better than that Robson/Hartley pish we had to put up with anyway.

    Very important player for us.

Yep, i agree, he doesnt stick out, he just sits in the background and does his job. He's part of the engine room, along with kayal i would say. I think Kayal sticks out alot more in our team right now, because when was the last time we had a player that done done his job well? .. I would go as far back to say Lennon maybe, dont rate Robson on the same level as him. Just the same as Hooper sticks out, because when was the last time we had a goal-a-game(near enough) striker? .. we had henk then Mcdonald, then a big gap, and now hooper.

Im really not trying to take anything away from our squad, cos i think their brilliant, but i think some people's judgement of them are a bit clouded as we havent exactly been spoiled with the greatest of talent recently. instead, we've been spoiled with under-par players, who do the job minimally, or just enough to get by. These players ( kayal, hooper, ledley, izzy, commons ) do the job, and do it really well, which is the standard we should be looking for in the transfer windows, if not better, therefore strengthening our squad!

so for now i would say we're close to having a rock solid squad, just have to see how nexxt season goe's, and then its about strengthening from there, not selling our assets unless we need to, and can bring someone through the youth or replace.

i dont know if people will understand what im talking about, but i dont know how else to say it :p

basically we've been eating beans for the past few seasons, its only now that we've got a taste of steak that we think its the best thing ever. truth is, we should always be eating the steak.

    Sums it up well.

Most intelligent player out there, very mature for a 24 (?) year old and if he stays its only a matter of time until be becomes captain. He also has a great attitude, never hear him complain when he's told to play LB ect. Put onto this he was smart enough to come to us instead of some * mid prem league team and turned down other teams like Roma.

One of our most important players, goes about his business quietly but he's superb in the middle of the pitch. His passing ability is top notch. Will definately hit the back of the net more next season I think. Capable of taking the captains armband too. :shamrock:

No we won it because the huns were goosed and it was the end of season games were the rest were on their holidays early.

Hartley and Robson were the Caldwell and McManus of midfield, they were hun class players just not dazzling on the eye enough to be classed as good Celtic players, they done a decent job but Kayal and Ledley are lightyears ahead.

Joe Ledley did really well well for us this season. If you think Ledley was pish then I would suggest you weren't watching the matches closely enough. Ledley's partnership with Beram Kayal was the fulcrum around which all our best football was played this season.

away ye go they were good hard midfielders and did a job for celtic that was needed. To call them pish is shocking in my opinion
