Looks that way. Well done to Dundalk on back to back league titles. Just a matter of when its official now really. They still have a very good shot at the double as well.

    No.

The crowd will be affected by the kick off time and I suppose the fact Dublin are playing doesn't help.

The real fans will be there if they can make it. Can't see the Rovers crowd being affected by the Dublin game. The majority of their hardcore support hate the GAA.

Perhaps one of the reason why LOI do not attract more fans. Many LOI fans would show more allegiance to Chelsea and Man Utd. than their local county/club GAA team. The same fans then moan about the lack of support from the population in general most of whom are GAA followers.

Rovers fans have good reason to dislike the GAA. The GAA tried to delay the completion of Tallaght stadium when Rovers had been travelling around Dublin like nomads for 23 years. It was a bad situation and sad really because many Rovers board members were big Dublin fans

You say many LOi fans have more of an allegiance to epl teams then GAA clubs. How many LOI fans do you even know? It's not as if Harps have great support in Donegal. It's actually quite the opposite to what you said. Many Irish epl fans are very passionate about GAA. Some of biggest GAA fans I know support Liverpool, United etc.

The reason the league doesn't attract fans is because Irish people stick to what we're good at and can identify more with. They are caught up in the glamour of the epl and clubs like Celtic.

I play football with people from all over the country every week. The vast majority of them support epl teams and are incredibly passionate about GAA. It amuses me when you call Irish epl fans west brits when the majority of them follow GAA. Michael Cusack played Rugby and Cricket is he a west brit? The LOI isn't glamorous enough for most of the country. We stick to what were good at and jump on the bandwagon when we get success in other sports.

As much of your post is pointing out how many GAA fans also support EPL teams maybe you could quote where I said any different. I just pointed out that many LOI fans complain about the general public not supporting local teams while they themselves make a point of avoiding the GAA

Finn Harps do not represent the county nor do I live in close proximity to the stadium so they are not really my local team. The are many in Donegal who live closer the Brandywell and actually support Derry City. For the record I have attended matches in both the Branywell and Finn Park

Most of the grassroots GAA people hate the LOI and do not want to see it flourish and vice versa. In realty they are in competition with each other not only for support but also for players.

I was pointing out the fact you said most of the country are GAA supporters but you've called them west brits on a number of occasions on this forum. How does that make sense? LOI fans don't make a point of avoiding GAA. Many of them love the sport. The only people who avoid it are the ones who dislike the sport or have very good reason to avoid it e.g. Rovers fans. And yes I know Derry City have many supporters from Donegal

Yes the GAA and the LOI are in competition for support but I don't know why anyone who call themselves football fans wouldn't want Irish football to flourish. I've seen you complain about epl a lot. More LOI fans means less media coverage for epl which can only be good for football in this country.

There is little would make me happier. It is a shame that the national TV station financed by the people of Ireland promote the EPL over the LOI. Even the GAA has to play second fiddle to the EPL in the Irish media.
