A good effort from Pats and an even better one from Cork.

Dundalk result was just top class.

    Great week for the LOI.

They were unlucky last time against these.. Dundalk are better away from home, I can see them getting something here..

0-0 at half time for Dundalk, under a bit of pressure at the end but would be great if they could hold off.

No they have to play it in Tallaght this year.

    Beat 1 - 0.

Not a bad result at all.

1-0 going on 5-0, Dundalk will need a serious miracle to turn that around. Never understood fans cheering on another club from the same league in Europe but each to their own

Never understood fans wanting others teams they aren't rivals with to fail in Europe. I'm rooting for Aberdeen and was going for Dundalk and Cork.

Not the worst result from cork, are they allowed to play their hone leg in cork? Would fancy them to go through if so. Really good record there.

Watched the Cork game. I thought they done well. That was the type of team we would struggle against

Dundalk badly need to get their stadium in order, that section for the away fans is potential claim city, especially if you,'ve had a few scoops. :smiley-laughing002:

That was the one thing Rovers done right with the money they got from the recent purple patch, bringing the stadium up to scratch for the first few legs in Europe.

To be fair dreadful stadiums and poor pitches are 2 of the biggest issues that dog the league in general with very few exceptions when it comes to the stadiums.

Seems to be trouble behind the scenes with the leasing of the stadium so can't see Dundalk pumping any money into Oriel Park anytime soon.

In other news, Limerick are pulling out all the stops for next years return to premier with a cracking signing in Michael Essien.

They are direct competitors in terms of the league, if they advance that is all extra cash they have to offer our players and potential new signings. And I don't buy the "good for the league" notion, it is only good for the team involved, in 2011 when we qualified for the EL it didn't bring the league on any further and the barstoolers still weren't converted. It is utter madness to want a competitor to have that sort of advantage over you.

Turners Cross meets the criteria for this round but they'll have to play the next round elsewhere if they get through I'm sure
