Is drinking and a few flares really newsworthy from an away match? There is a common theme in Sligo whenever we win, always some dramatic tear filled story about Rovers fans. There was a banner from our end for this Brit Sligo have brought in as manager "Robertson war criminal shame on Sligo, TÁL".

A large away crowd with a load of different buses on the * for a few hours is what happened, the exact same as I've seen it on aways with Celtic to be honest.

Sligo are clearly desperate and have risked it on this ex Brit and a squad full of new LoI players, it will go one way or the other

And you know full well that in a LoI context everyone outside of Sligo refers to Sligo Rovers as Sligo and Shamrock Rovers as Rovers, its not meant as a dig so I wouldn't take it as one btw

This is their second year in LoI, they started off last season well but fell away. They've had a massive underage system for years now, basically they joined the LoI so they will have access to the new underage LoI leagues that are taking shape

    * sake, I had never even heard of them :88:

I never really looked at the first division last year, apart from near the end to check Finn Harps results, hoping they got up, as it would be a handy away game for us.

Do this Cabinteely mob get much of a crowd, or are they just like UCD with absolutely no supporters ???

UCD's average attendance last season if you can even call it that was 217!!!
Cabinteely's was 1,052 which is middle of the pack in terms of League of Ireland attendances. I think they came in 10th out of all 20 League of Ireland teams in average attendance.

I think that was mainly down to their first few fixtures bringing in quite big attendances and they seem to count all the kids with free season tickets, not that its bad but it certainly is massaging their figures :icon_mrgreen:.

They have a good marketing team who have had some very good bits on social media the past year, and at least they have people who are connected with the club and an underage setup, also a bar in Stradbrook which helps things.

Would be nice to see Cabinteely do well in the first division. They've got a cracking marketing team with some of the stuff they've came out with and the more clubs we have the merrier. The Kerry District league have a team in the LOI u17's league so could have a Kerry team back in the league in a couple of years time and think the Mayo league have talked about trying the same thing.

2 0 result really flattered us last night, could easily have been a draw. I was impressed with Wexford who are actually trying to play a bit of ball but probably missing a bit of experience to nab something. Good of course to be winning dirty but we haven't clicked as I'd have liked, big week ahead for us.

Meanwhile up in Derry the usual scrotes have surfaced I see, is it Rovers fault again
