I think I might be stating fact when I say Lawell has given any Celtic manager since 2010 more financial muscle to beat his opponent be it domestic leagues, cups or at UCL qualification level.

    Am I right?

I'm not as big a critic of Lawwell as a lot of others on here are but even at that he shouldn't be getting a bonus this year. The team have failed in it's objectives and he and the board are partly to blame for that. It's all well and good having a steady turnover and balancing the books but if that doesn't crossover to success on the park then what is the point?

possibly i don't know the accounts of legia warsaw and marribor

so your saying lawell gave the tools to the managers and its their failure not his

we have become unstable and results unstable by the amount of changes every year

we only barely achieved champions league last season and then got battered in it and we sell our best experienced players from last season and employ lesser players

its quite a downsizing job and the results bare it out

exactly he isnt getting a 400k bonus for winning the spfl is he ?

Well our players are paid much more than Maribor or Legia mate, that's cast iron fact.

It's pretty certain that, since 2010, Lawell has given any Celtic manager much more financial backing than any league, cup, or UCL qualifiaction rival we have faced (I'm sure there must be one exception?)

If those managers fail by getting beat off Morton, Aberdeen, Legia, Maribor or any other teams that embarrassed us in that last 4 years, then that's precisely * all to do with one Mr Peter Lawell.

Why should he be punished for Neil Lennon putting out a team that gets beat 1 nil from a team who then gets relegated from the championship?

Or by the fact that Ronny Diela can't beat Maribor at home with a £15m windfall the prize prize for doing so?

No idea how anyone can defend him considering how backwards we've gone in the past 2 years.

This penny pinching is getting ridiculous.

To be honest, the club has been making record profits the last couple of years so he probably deserves it.

Exactly. WHY is he getting a bonus of that size when we apparently can't afford transfer fees ?

The product on the park has went rapidly downhill. We've been left with one big financial asset in Virgil Van Dijk and not replaced any of the ones we've sold.

He clearly deserves it, he's met the parameters that have been set for him. The problem is, what are they parameters and are they effecting our product on the pitch.

the board are drunk on the buy young talent sell for 10m next year syndrome

that won't last forever and its not the fact that they are doing this good on them, its the fact that they have wilfully taken the eye of the ball as regards the football

the business isnt about flipping players to make profit the business is about creating a team to keep the fans happy and not totally destroying it for financial gain - GREED without a thought for the fans or the leftover players or the manager

or how in fact we are going to achieve the same next time with lesser players

thats the issue here that the boardmen seem to have taken their eyes off

or that lawell shoud have been aware of he's been here long enough

only talent we have left is vvd and he obviously thought he was going to the epl this year was the itimated to him ?

In any walk of life, the chief exec is the guy raking it in....however, in fitba, the more deserving imho of that success are going to be managers and players. i just think its obscene that the CEO will rake in so much for what is mainly a glorified admin job. Deserves a good pay packet, but in tough times, its rude to overdo it.
