Not scored a header in 5 years, since I watched Total Larsson ive scored 2 headers in 3 games. Just by copying his runs & positions.

Henrik Larsson, Shearer was a class player but I think Henrik was a far more intelligent player.

In the air they were about as good as each other, Shearer's long shots were better but in terms of movement, support play and sheer class I think it's Henrik.

He scored in four World Cups, he was man of the match in a Champions League final. He was the highest scorer in Europe for a player at a British club for a while and considering that was for a team in Scotland that is a impressive stat.

Henrik also done it for longer, went to Man Utd at 36 and had Fergie begging him to stay.

It is very close in terms of ability but Henrik utilized his better.

 

larsson all day his all round play was just far superior and he achieved much more in his career, when you think of some of the players larsson played with that get put in the category of greatest in the game he out shown them on the big stage when it mattered, he is also a true gent something shearer is not

 

Both great players but I voted for Henke...i believe he offered more in his over all play for his clubs than Shearer did.

If this was a worldwide poll, I could only understand Newcastle fans picking Shearer, which is fair enough. As a Celtic fan I'd have another one of our legendary strikers Chris Sutton, over Shearer. Being completely unbiased though, there is only one winner. I genuinely don't think there's been as good an all round striker in my lifetime than Larsson, trying my damnedest to take my Celtic-tinted glasses off. Sure, pre-injury fat Ronaldo was probably better, but Larsson was a creator as well, and the best header I have ever seen. Van Nistelrooy is probably the best finisher I have ever seen, and the best poacher, but wasn't as fast or good at setting up chances as Larsson.

The thing about Henrik is he shone in every single big game he played in.

 

I like shearer and I am tryin to not be biased but Larsson brough much more to the team, Shearer was for all intensive purposes a penalty box striker, he was just a finisher albeit a great one. Larsson was a all purpose Forward, he created as many chances as he scored which is what I would want to have on my team, as proof I would use Chris Sutton who was far better when paired with larsson rather than Shearer even though it was much later in his career

 

At every corner he used to run away from goal instead of towards goal to give himself space, it was incredible that SPL centre halves never cottoned on.

He scored doing it against the huns in a 3-3 draw and of course in Seville.

 

Henrik by far!

Larsson for me, although shearer was a good striker if he wasn`t scoring he was ineffective. Plus Larsson`s attitude was much better, shearer was partial to a dirty tackle or two( stamp on Lennon is a prime example).
