CELTIC want to bring loan star Landry N'Guemo to Parkhead for good - but are looking at a cut-price deal.

The Cameroon midfielder's French club Nancy want £1.8m - but Celts hope to knock £600,000 off any transfer fee.
Nancy are keen for the cash and have offered Celtic left wing back Jean Calve to make up the difference - a player wanted by former Hoops boss Tony Mowbray last summer.
Calve, 26, has spent the last season on loan at Grenoble but won't be returning after their relegation from France's top flight.
Ironically, he was tracked by Rangers two years ago and has also been linked with Stoke and Blackburn.
He still has two years left on his contract - and Nancy want to get Calve off their books.
Celtic are just as keen to find some left backs.
Edson Braafheid has returning to Bayern and Lee Naylor is out of contract.

No to Calve, he is not what we need, and since when is Nancy a Celtic feeder club  However I do like the sound of 600,000 less.

Load of *. There more than 1 club that wants him. If we dont take up the option to sign him then Nancy will more likely get more money for him. The Sun are certainly bored this week.

I think him and Brown are that similar, that unless we sell Brown we don't need N'Guemo.

In an ideal world we'd sell Brown for £4m plus and take on N'Guemo and that LB for £1.6m

can't believe were actually considering paying 1.8mill for him.

he started over 40 games for us last season :

    - he did not score one single goal
    - i would be really shocked if he even set up one single goal
    - And we seen one of the worst defensive displays during a season which is not directly is fault however being a defensive midfeilder, it sort of hints that he is not actually protecting the defensive as well as he should be

    oh and he can't pass

They are similar but if we have a season like the last one where Brown was out for around 15 games and N'guemo missed a month (due to the African nations tournament) then we could definately do with both of them.. I'd have no problem with us having a slightly bloated squad with plenty of options for a season people have been referring to as a must win SPL title season..

I think the boy lacks everything, mount of games i was at last season and it drove me to wanting to walk out, based on stupid mistakes not just by him, but by a large number of celtic players. I stayed in watched til the end and saw teams pick us off like hibs? and the 1-1 draw with falkirk which is diar, if u want to start on away results, 4-0 st mirren and 3-3 with falkirk and ofcourse the 4-4 with aberdeen. This is not exceptable and nquemo was a player thats meant to protect our defence all i see here is poor performences from our defensive midfielder?

Forget the N'Guemo deal and go for Gomis at Dundee Utd.

N'Guemo dives into challenges and the few times he wins the ball it's guaranteed he'll lose it on his next touch, his passing is also poor and he very rarely gets near the oppositions box.

I would love celtic to go for MacArthur from Hamilton as i feel he is as good or even probulary better than brown and would cost us about 1.5million instead of nguemo

he didnt play in the falkirk draw took off at 4-2 against aberdeen am quite sure his passings better than browns the amount of times he won the ball was a lot more than he gave away aswell

His passing alot better than what people are making out yes hes had a couple of bad games, but hes got a bit of dig about him, I specificly watched him in the last old firm game and he only misplaced 1 pass, hes well worth the money being mentioned.

ok so obv your a fan of him:50:point taking mate, but hes a player who hasen't done anything to improve our midfield, i say our midfield is weaker that what it was:97:he shows some signs of a good player and then he shows signs of pure utter pish.:86:we need players like brown in our team, hes know what its like to play in scotland, in hes a * peepo hate to play against. Brown hisnae been to hot mate but he'll come good, in if he got to work wae a good midfielder he would be even better. Hartley nd robson worked there arses off fur the tik, shame we hivnae got that in these too:shamrock:

He's an average player lacking physical stature IMO. He's replaceable
