With some of the Messi idolization that goes about in this thread, I am the last person you should be saying that to..:giggle1:

I wouldn't say speed, more like acceleration. they rely on technical gifted footballers who know how to pass. that's why for example aubameyang wouldn't suit their game.

Griezmann would cost easily over £100m. my biggest problem is Barca would yet do another deal over £100m which is absolutely insane and will damage football in the long run. They have always been a club I liked but they are turning more and more into Real Madrid, PSG and Man City.

Aye I must agree, the reason I wanted to see PSG pumped wasn't sour grapes, it was because I don't think it would be romantic if they won it. Like Celtic with 11 local lads all being able to play attacking stylish football Pep's team of 2009 and 2011 were romantic because they were mostly La Masia lads which I thought was incredible because the money men had already been around a while then.

Now though Barca are having to become money men themselves because La Masia happened to be a golden era and not something consistent which they were hoping at the time obviously.

I still like them out of every one apart from us because with Messi in their side moments of magic can happen that no other team can produce. I liked them before that though, I think their history and footballing philosophy is close to ours except they can afford to realise it now.

Greizmann's buy out clause used to be over £200m but for some crazy reason it got reduced to £100m in his last contract. Loads of teams are lining up to persuade him but Barca are favourites I read.

Edit: Aye talking of speed, Bayern demolished them one year due to their speed I'm sure. They could pass with speed and accuracy. Barca were used to pressing teams like that and getting the ball back but they lost it after Pep left I think.

You know how Messi often comes back into his own half to retrieve the ball from defenders, I think we need to do that more.

That's exactly my problem too. I like their tradition, their culture and (former) players. However they risk of losing that spirit and identity imho and turn into plastic.

Bayern completely raped them that year, they looked terrible over both legs that year.

True, they could end up like all the rest just paying huge amounts for Galacticos. Would be a shame if it was using Quatari money as well.

Bayern did hump them rotten but they were fly and stretched the letter of the law I'm sure by disabling Barca's midfield when they watered it so much it was flooded. Barca's control of midfield was how they won games. Then Messi missed the second leg cause it was already over. Mind you PSG were 4 up and Barca still had belief in that 2nd leg.

But aye Bayern play a much faster game than Barca as far as I've seen. Still can't believe they sold Costa. He's not half as good now as he was with Bayern.

Griezemann would actually suit Bayern and Real. Germans tabloids reported Lewandoski is offski to Real Madrid.

Oh right so Benzema is for the off then? Mind you there has been a lot of talk of Bale returning to the EPL. Man Utd are meant to be favourites, please no. He'd suit Liverpool better or even going back to Spurs. Although the price tag will probably be over £100m so it'll be the big boys. He better not move to Chelsea. Man City probably covet him too and money is no object to them. Well it is when they're trying to park their cars in the garage, would make an interesting episode of Hoarders.

There have been crazy rumours going around.. but they are just rumours. we will see when the deals are signed and done. Just read a few moments ago that Man Utd want to part ways with at least 10 players (Mata, Herrera, Smalling, etc.) and they will go for Bale in return.

Sevilla away is a pretty risky game to leave Messi out but I guess they'll bring him on last 30 mins if things aren't going to plan. The do have the quality to win without him mind, just think sometimes they do rely on him a bit.

This is like night and day from whenever last time I saw sevilla play, think it was the 1st leg of the man utd game, but despite being 2 up they seem prone to overplaying the final ball.

Sevilla messed up big time but so did Valverde by leaving the magician out however he was forced to bring him on and even by Messi's standards of saving games that was unbelievable.
