That's true but they only had to win against a poor Malaga team yesterday and the title was theirs and they couldn't do it and they lost 2-0 to Levante two weeks ago.

I am 100% behind them as I love to see the underdog do well but it just seems like they are chocking at the wrong time, they should have the title wrapped up by now.

0-0 means Atletico win it as they are 3 points ahead just now.

Aye they definitely have had two golden opportunities to wrap it up. A say it'll be a tight game as Atletico are solid but a still think will win it. And a hope so.

Hopefully wee Messi can turn on the style.

A posted this earlier. Surely Real Madrid must be kicking themselves now after both Barca and Atletico drop two points each.

Had Real won they be on 87pts, just 2 behind Atletico and 1 point ahead of Barca going into the last game.

Barcelona would of been in a tight situation then, beat Atletico and hope Real don't win or let Atletico beat then to clinch the title over there rivals.

A would be absolutely raging if a was Real Madrid fan. The club let them down big time.

I don't think fans care. The want La Decima. It would still have been a long shot after today (if they won).

If Atletico do win it next week, will they lift the trophy on barcas ground?

I know over here we would, but in Spain it seems to work a bit different, with less traveling fans and so on,.

A long shot?:56: There at home to Espanyol next week am pretty sure they'd take care of them.

Then if Barca beat Atletico, Real Madrid would of been champions.

They may want the CL but that doesn't mean they should throw away the title after all these months trying to win it.

It's just mad to think they could of been in 2nd place only 2pts behind top, had they took the game more serious.

I agree with Juanfran though. He said he's angry about everyone saying Real Madrid lost it rather than Atleti/Barca winning it.

It's a marathon over a whole season, and Real have just slipped up while the other two have kept going, which sounds crazy considering Barca were kinda ruled out not long ago (by some of their own players even!)

Really hope Atleti get over the line and do it, I jumped off the sofa in the 95th min when I thought Adrian had pinged one into the top bag but * Caballero got on the end of it, good keeper.

Imagine they do the double, you'd have been a millionaire had you predicted it in July :smiley-laughing002:

Edit: In case it hasn't been mentioned. Atletico and Barca have met 6 times this year. Atletico winning 1 and drawing 5. Going to be an unbelievable occasion!

That was because the game started at a time which, within the laws in the UK, the game couldn't have been screened. I think it states that no football can be shown live on a Saturday between 3-5.30pm, and the Clasico kicked off at 5.15pm if I'm right?

Anyway the F.A cup can * off, imagine watching Arsenal v Hull slug it out for the F.A cup rather than Barca v Atletico going at it for the title. :smiley-laughing002:

Who ever wins it deserves it, it really is that simple:50: Barca haven't be at there best this seasons but they've still banged in 99 goals in the league, 30 more than Altetico. And only conceded 7 more. Real Madrid can't blame anyone but themselves they have lost 1 and drew 2 of there last 3 league games.there * collapsed a bit like Liverpool did with 4 games to go:smiley-laughing002:

Aside from the fact that it was Messi's accountant who * up, and that it'll be him who's held responsible over any money rather than Messi himself I would say that's not the issue.

Besides, from what I hear his new deal at Barca may include some "additional help" with the tax money owed due to him being shafted a bit in the Neymar debacle. A gesture of goodwill if you like?

The team haven't recovered from Tito's death in my opinion. They have the look of a side who just want this season to finish.

If anything, that should give them an extra incentive in my opinion. Much like in the year we won the "Title For Tommy".

They have the chance next week to win the title for Tito, something which didn't seem possible a few weeks ago.

It depends on the mindset of the players involved though. Different people react to grief in different ways.

That is true. Would it not be better to leave out players if they weren't feeling up to playing just yet? I know it's a difficult situation though. We might see a great Barca display this weekend, and see them win a title for Tito, I think it would be a very fitting way to end the season, after what has been a pretty disastrous one, both on and off the field.

I reckon they'll get a draw aswell but they are deserving champions, unrivalled consistency.

Ah, thanks for explaining that. Sounds more realistic than the whole tax case being for his performances. :smiley-laughing002:

I think the problem is that the players who were hardest hit were the ones who came through the academy, meaning you'd be talking about the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Pedro, Pique & Busquets.

There's no way Martino leaves any of them out of the side in the run-in to the closest La Liga finish in years.

If there head isn't in the right place though, then it doesn't matter who it is in my opinion. Iniesta went through a bad spell after Dani Jarque passed away, and he was then left out IIRC. To be fair, the names you mentioned above are all guesswork. Nobody knows really what state of mind any the players are in excpet themselves and probably the coaching staff that see them train day in day out. They will have an idea if they are mentally fit enough, and if they aren't then they should be given compassionate leave to try and prepare for the World Cup now. I have wanted Atletico to win the League all season, but it would be nice to see Barca do it for Tito now I think. That won't happen with a team where everyone is not mentally ready to play.
