Am saying it now Atletico will win La Liga.

 

They won't. They will do well but eventually fall away into third like last year.

 

No they won't, they're 18/1 for a reason. If they're still level with Barca at Christmas I would then label them contenders - they won 8 La Liga games in a row at the start of last season (unbeaten until November), but became very inconsistant from then onwards. Can't see anything different this year. I think Barca will have the Title wrapped up early again this season, with Real runners-up.

 

Atletico will certainly come closer than last year.

 

Betis 1 Villarreal 0.

 

Would love to see Atletico put in a challenge right until the end of the season. The last side to push Barca and Real all the way was Sevilla, and it was a cracking season I thought. I would say it's a bit early to have them as title contenders, but the win away at Real at the weekend, definitely made a statement of intent.

 

Good to see Atletico winning Madrid derbies for a change, before the cup final they had not won in a while. Simeone has them playing good football and they can mix it up if needed. Can they keep it up this time, not sure if they have the consistency of Barcelona and Real Madrid, time will tell but would be good to see them challenge the big 2.
