The one that sticks out for me is that he earns 47 weeks minimum wage in two and a half hours. Lots of people who pay his wages will be the types who bring food into work because they can't afford to waste money going out for lunch, he could buy a Subway every ten seconds.

    Minging.

Yeah Di Maria has been fantastic for Real Madrid and Argentina for a good while now. I wouldn't mind seeing the back of him.

How much do you think Real would want for him?

I personally felt Ozil was better but it's all about opinions I suppose :50:

40 millionish unless they're desperate to shift him. He'd be a great signing for any team.

I've been looking at his stats he played 52 games last season. Not sure how many of those 52 games were starts.

I agree with this, in terms of ability. Di Maria has always had incredible ability, skill and his crossing is always top notch.

Bale has probably been a tad more consistent in the last year or two, however it might be because of the rather reserved role Di Maria had under Mourinho's Madrid.

Di Maria's problem is he is nowhere near as powerful as Bale. He has incredible pace but doesn't know how to use it as explosively as Bale does.

He has also been playing for a better team, I'd have Bale over him but if you're talking £85m for Bale and £25m for Di Maria it's a no contest in Di Maria's direction.

He isn't. Unfortunately, much like we see in Scotland, the situation in Spain is that most players "have to" support one of the big two, and if you don't the media will just choose a club for you.

Isco's criticism of Madrid a while back made that choice an easy one.

The fact that he was born in Malaga (Benalmádena to be exact, which is virtually a stones throw from where I live), that he was a regular at Malaga CF games as a youngster with his Malaga supporting family, and that he had to be practically shoehorned out of the club should say all that needs to be said.

Isco had made it clear that he would have been more than happy to remain with Malaga for the rest of his career, and that he would only ever leave if the club asked him to.

They asked him to in the summer, and when faced with the choices of where to go he made the demand that he be sold to the club that is nearest to his hometown of Benalmádena, allowing him to visit his friends and family frequently.

This is the reason why so many English reporters were left scratching their heads when Manchester City offered more money for him apparently, and definitely offered him more money personally.

He's Malaga through & through by all accounts. The fact that he still Tweets about Malaga games even now says a lot.

I would have Bale in my team over Di Maria every day of the week. I think it's easy to give Bale a bit of stick becasue of the price tag, and there is no question that he ain't worth anywhere near that kind of money. But I do think he has now shown that he is a fantastic player.

When he is in full flight, he is very hard to stop without conceding a foul. As Dev pointed out, he is a much more powerful player than Di Maria, and for me, he is more of a match winner. Di Maria can drift in and out of games, where as Bale always seems to be heavily involved. Whether or not that will continue to be the case at Madrid, well that remians to be seen. But I would rather have Bale on the park than Di Maria.

Anyone seen Bale and Ronaldo in training?

They were playing piggy in the middle but when Ronaldo was in the middle and Bale had the ball, Ronaldo would fly in a bit or be a bit overly physical.

If they were joking about it afterwards then it would mean nothing but they weren't even looking at each other.

A bit of tension perhaps? Guillem Balague was saying Ronaldo was unhappy about Bale costing more than him which doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Be interesting to see if anything develops.

I would rather take Benzema out, who is on a 20 hour goal drought (for club and country iirc).

He scored the first game of the season?

2 goals and 2 assists in 3 games for Benzema in the league.

4 in 7 and 4 assists all in.
