No guy's like Griezmann who are overrated beyond belief..

I like Griezmann, but he isn't suited to the way Barcelona attack, not when it's all about the style of Messi, that Fati compliments so well.
Griezmann is better in a more organised side, more counter attacking, but as an actual striker with traditional support so he can go deep if needed.

I just don't rate him..

He's obviously got talent but I think he's mad overrated. Never see him do anything mind-blowing....considering he's been in that bracket of elite footballers..

Tell you what though, Dembele has not once impressed me since he came to Barca. I dont see it at all with him, specially at the price he cost. Injuries aside as well, even when hes had a few games I just dont see it.

 

That's a shocker of a result for Barca.

Messi anonymous again, good to see Barca getting the arrogance pumped out of them tbh. They need a good 5 * years, total clear out then work their way back.

 

Literally is what is happening with them right now, theyve been * for a few seasons now and this season they look to be actually building a squad again with plenty of youth.
Pedri, Fati both 17 and long term prospects to take over from the likes of Messi and the number ten role (countiho as it is just now for them, who is a much better player this season for Barca).
Trincao at 20, Puig and Alena getting game times as well. They genuienly look like they are now pushing forward with a project on hand. May not all click this season, but they are a side now growing together.
That backline though needs a massive clear out, specially at CB.
Alba is always a class act when on his game, Roberto is solid enough and Drest looks a real talent, but the CB pairing is woeful for them.

I think it's so sad how Barcelona have have gone backwards.

Puyol, Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Alves, Etoo, Larsson etc supported by other world class talents.

It's now just Messi. Everyone else at that club is mediocre. The club has crumbled off the field and it's now effecting them on the field. Everyone could see this coming but nothing was done to stop it.

 

Aye Bartemou has so much to answer for in regards to Barcelona not building since that era of stars all moved on and retired.

It happens in football, most clubs and nations will have ups and downs and specially at clubs that depend so heavily on a youth production, it is expected there will be golden eras. Ajax for example as well.

But a club the size of Barcelona should never have been allowed to slip so far off the top spots.
Bartemou is on his way out, March latest, but is it too little too late for Messi to be convinced other wise? Who knows. Guys the best player of all time, but I think even now Barcelona need to really look to the next generation.
Anyone who has watched a few matches so far this season will see that there is hope within the current squad, is Koeman the man to do it? Not sure.

But players like Fati, Puig, Pedri, Trincao, De Jong, Dest, are a core group for the next 10 years if they continue to be supported and nurtured. They need guys like Pique, Messi and even now Pjanic and Busquests to help them, but equally when these guys all move on again they need to still bring in replacements for them.

The future for Barcelona is flickering again, the next board will be very telling though.
