Hard to understand the attitude of some. You're only hurting yourselves. He's not reading TalkCeltic; whereas you're depriving yourselves of that affection you used to feel for him. Why do that to yourselves? What is the psychological payoff?

I have no issue with Kyogo leaving, he gave us some amazing memories and spanked the huns more times than I can count.

I think he's made the wrong choice moving to a team like Rennes who are clearly struggling, but it's worked out massively for us.

I hope he finds his form and smashes it over there, I just don't think he will.

People who throw a fit when a player leaves do my head in. He didn't have * with your wife, * sake. Same idiots were slating Jota when he left and now pretending like they were singing his praises the whole time. Fickle bunch.

Think the issue is Jota was still happy at Celtic however left for an absolute fortune, the indication whether true or not was that Kyogo was unhappy at Celtic, and had been for quite some time. Think people struggle to understand how a player who is idolised by the fans and is successful can be unhappy at the club they love.

I think his main issue is that they winning rather than struggling at the moment. Won 3 of their last 4, losing to Lille after having a player sent off (Lille are a decent team too). If they were struggling they'd probably give him a chance up front.

    Spot on

It was probably the time to move on for both parties.

No hard feelings that he went, but I think he's made a massive mistake in the team he's gone to.

Might be a whole lot of personal reasons. Maybe didn't like Glasgow, or the attention he received in our goldfish bowl set up, or kids not settled at school, or girlfriend hates the weather, or he fancied living in Brittany, or just a load of other real life things that mean people want a change. Or maybe he just genuinely didn't enjoy playing against Ross county and St Mirren every other week anymore and fancied a change after winning everything in Scotland.

Why fans act like jilted ex lovers when football players move on i have no idea. Especially when if the same player performed badly, same fans are first to call for the club to get rid.

I think it doesn't make sense to normal working people how someone can be making that much cash a week and be genuinely unhappy. Plus it's not as if being a Celtic player is a bad lifestyle, with bad working conditions.

He's 30. He can retire in 5 years if he wants and be set for life. What's not to like?

You would think that common sense would tell him that Rennes was the wrong move for him. But I also think Celtic pushed the deal through. If he already said he wanted to leave. Celtic saw an opportunity to get a good price for him.....plus Jotta back.
It was a case of...."well you said you wanted to leave so this is where your going....".

He won't be there next season at the current rate. Suspect he'll be back in Japan or the MLS.

Hope he does well, not that I'll bother either way, but loved the wee man, absolute brilliant player.

Maeda although not as good as finisher is doing fine up there, but hopefully we get a replacement and let Daizen back on wing.

I think the reason he took the move to Rennes was solely so he could move on again quite quickly.

Sounds bizarre, but that’s what Jota has just done.

Celtic wouldn’t sell him for buttons, we would wait for the £10m or keep him for another year or so. Take the move to Rennes now, knowing they’ll move you on at a loss to the USA, especially since the manager was on the brink (and is now sacked).

Celtic weren’t selling him this summer for £4m or so, but would anyone really be surprised if Rennes did?

I understand his desire to leave and I thought it was the right time for him to go but French football was a shocking stylistic choice for him..

I think France in terms of pure physicality particularly in strength and power is as hard as it gets for a striker.

Look around French clubs centre halves and they are all 6’5 Congolese powerhouses.

    Not exactly Kyogo’s forte.

I think ultimately it was down to Celtic where he went and because we wanted jota back it ended up being France

I * hate that btw! Kieran Tierney was too nervous to go to Celtic Park for a game after he left because of * daft fans on Twitter.

And it’s always so random the ones that get it. It’s always been weird to me Eddy and Gary Hooper leaving a large part of the support were bitter as * about. Moussa Dembele nobody on any large noticeable scale did, and he went into training and made an absolute riot to get the Lyon bid accepted. It’s weird always to me, but how * random it is has always confused me more.

Van Dijk got it, Victor Wanyama didn’t. It’s bizarre.

Atlanta in the MLS * announced him and everything, reading between the lines not knowing for a fact, it screams out Rennes or * all when we knew Jota could return.

And as much as all the wording was two transfers, not a swap, it’s an obvious * swap and some money exchanged. We announced Jota same time Rennes did Kyogo. The day before when it was expected we’d announce Jota there was rumours about a delay because Kyogo’s shoulder problem, Jota being announced was delayed to the next day as well.

Rennes is an obvious * move for Kyogo, I’m just happy he agreed and now Jota’s back. Exceptional business for us.

Not even that, he left when he was still highly thought of. I think another year of his form 18 months under Rodgers he wouldn’t be as fondly remembered.

Striker Kyogo Furuhashi has confessed he was left "frustrated" after being snubbed by Japan during his time at Celtic.

The 30-year-old left the Scottish Premiership in the winter transfer window for at Stade Rennes as he looked to lead the club away from the drop zone - but has been struggling to make his mark under new boss Habib Beye after Jorge Sampaoli was shown the door just days after pushing for a £10million move. However, he was prolific during his three-and-a-half years at Celtic - but would only be used sparingly by Japan coach Hajime Moriyasu - who notably left him out of his squads for the 2022 World Cup and this year's Asian Cup.

Speaking to Lemino Football, he admitted that missing out of the tournament in Qatar was a hammerblow to him. Kyogo found out about the snub while travelling with the Hoops' squad for their Champions League group stage clash with Real Madrid.

Asked about missing the tournament, he said: "It was really frustrating, to be honest I think the announcement of the squad was on the day we were traveling for the Champions League away game. I couldn't let it dwell on me. To be honest, I was really depressed and frustrated, but I had to play in the Champions League, so I did my best to switch gears."

Another game warming the bench, he's no * chance of the next world cup squad now.
