Interesting to see if we bring a striker in now which would be crazy if we dont. Hope to see Maeda play a couple of games up top though.

Kyogo Furuhashi, New Striker for the Red and Black !

As the spearhead of Celtic FC, Japanese international forward Kyogo Furuhashi is the third addition of the winter transfer window for Stade Rennais F.C. Recently turned 30, Furuhashi signed a two-and-a-half-year contract

Notable for his relentless effort on the Scottish frontline and his impressive statistics, Kyogo Furuhashi has delighted the green and white fans over three seasons. With an average of one goal every two matches, tallying 85 goals in 165 appearances across all competitions, his consistent performance has made him an undeniable asset for the Scottish giants.

A disruptive player known for his ability to make repeated runs both with and without the ball, Furuhashi's former teammate Andres Iniesta at Vissel Kobe—the club that launched his career in Japan—played his last match for Celtic last Wednesday in the Champions League against Young Boys of Bern. With the same dedication that defines him and a qualification for the Champions League playoffs, he has participated in this prestigious tournament 21 times, facing some of Europe's top defenders.

From Celtic Park to Roazhon Park! A three-time Scottish league champion and a holder of five national cups, Kyogo Furuhashi takes on a new challenge in Brittany, bringing his competitive spirit to a determined squad.

    Welcome, Kyogo !

Arnaud Pouille, Executive Chairman and Managing Director :
« The arrival of Kyogo is the wish of the whole club. He has a technical profile that will strengthen the changing room. He joins us after a fine period with Celtic and a number of trophies won in Scotland. He left behind some very fond memories there, and I hope that he will enjoy the same level of efficiency and success on the pitch with Stade Rennais. He's a very generous player with a great sense of team spirit. Kyogo has played more than 30 games this season, so he certainly has the pace needed at the very highest level. »

    Frédéric Massara, Sporting Director :
« We're delighted to welcome Kyogo, a striker with great finishing qualities, who is very active and generous with his runs. He has a wealth of international experience, including in the Champions League, and knows what it's like to play at the highest level. This will help the team and provide new solutions for the coach with the aim of getting back to winning ways. »

    Kyogo Furuhashi :
« I'm really looking forward to getting to know Stade Rennais and my new team-mates. I hope to make a rapid contribution to the team's performances. After some great years with Celtic, I was looking for a new challenge in a recognised league. Physically and technically, the league is very competitive. The coach and the directors told me how much they wanted me to bring my qualities and experience. The club is not in the position it has been in for the last few seasons, and our objective will be to climb back up the league table. I feel ready to give my all with Rennes.

Thank * we got Jota going the other way as this would’ve been a major kick in the balls if not.

Going to miss you wee man all the best

Was a massive player for us and a miss but I think we can replace him or at least what he has given us the last 6 months or so

    Bizarre move.

He was huge for us and signalled a real shift in momentum after a horrid season. For that he will always be remembered.

It's a shame we couldn't give him a send off but no doubt be back to visit at some point.

    Ex players incoming.

Maeda an emergency striker perhaps behind Idah and hopefully whoever else we get.

Criminal if we don't get anyone.

I get that but I'm astonished a better side than Rennes didn't fancy taking a shot on him. Anyway not our problem.

Good luck to him. Overall he was excellent for us, scored plenty of goals and always put in a shift. Hope he's a success in France.
