Stick to winding the huns up Sutton..

As Rodgers said, if a player doesn't want to be here then * him, fully back the club and board(quite rare I do) on this one.

If we get KT, Jota and that striker Kvistgaarden in it will be an excellent window. Kyogo will be a loss but hardly irreplaceable and has been nowhere near the level of previous seasons..

Giving up? Have a lay down Sutton..

If we don't sign another striker I'd say it's definitely a case of us throwing the towel in Europe.

Going into the play off round with Idah and Kenny just isn't acceptable. It's basically saying "we don't expect to get through and have no real intention of doing so".

It's been 12 years since we reached the last 16. We have a real opportunity of finally getting there again. The club shouldn't be selling Kyogo unless they have someone as good as him or better lined up.

Don't agree with Sutton at all.

We have no idea what the discussions were during the summer. Clearly Kyogo wanted to go and he told celtic. For all we know, a deal might have been to stick around to new year, help us progress in Europe, and move on in January. It would also give the club 4 months notice to find a replacement. If a player really wants to go then it is almost always best to accommodate the request, maybe not immediately but agreeing a plan with a player.

That aside, our whole model is based on bringing players in and moving them on for a profit. I'm sure this will be no small part of how we sell our club to aspirational talent. It's frustrating for fans but it's a good model that works.

And lastly, from a purely football perspective, he isn't larrson. He has been great but has had a poor season, doesn't naturally fit into the system we play, and a few weeks ago many were suggesting he could do with being benched. He has been terrific for us overall but i don't think he is utterly indispensable. A well spent 10m and I think we will be no worse off.

And good luck to him. Just sad we weren't able to give a proper send off.

I'm sorry but how is the business end of the season with a treble up for grabs the ideal time to bed a new striker in, as opposed to a full preseason and time to train with a new team? It's the worst time possible. If the new striker doesn't hit the ground running he'll simply find himself on the bench, just like Idah did first half of this season. League is not sewn up I'm so bored of hearing is. It's a decent cushion, nothing more. We still have 45 points to play for and slightly less than half our league games still to go. By what metric is that "nearly sewn up"? We've overcame bigger gaps in the past ourselves. We still need to keep winning and that in itself is pressure for new and existing players. An arrogant complacent attitude like that is how a 13 point gap becomes a 3 or 4 point gap very quickly.

I do also think it's a confusing message that we do finally make progress in Europe and then take a massive risk by selling our best striker. Is that simply accepting we'll get turned over in the playoff regardless of who we have? That's the way it looks to me. Expecting a new striker to make an immediate impact in our biggest European game in a decade is a burden that they don't deserve. If Kyogo wanted away, he should have gone in the summer, I agree with Sutton he has 2 and half years left on his deal and doesn't seem the type to cause trouble. He should have been staying until the end of the season. We absolutely should not make a habit of selling key players in January and especially not when still in Europe. Was exactly the same last year and thankfully we didn't sell O'Riley in January as we may not have won the league. Big decisions like this can backfire massively.

As much as I love Kyogo, think we have enough all round goal scorers to win the league. Scottish Cup who knows what happens there. CL can't see us getting by the next round no matter if we have Kyogo or not.

Maybe there is some truth in the shoulder thing, it does seem to be taking a while, he has been in France for 48 hours now.

Maybe explains why Celtic aren't moving on a replacement yet.

I base this on absolutely nothing

Sutton is way off. Kyogo wants to go. End of. Also dont think jota would have been a goer if we weren't dealing with them regarding kyogo. Lastly now is the time to improve things where we can. Squad is building very nicely to being very very strong come this summer.

Most probably won’t agree with me but it feels natural for him to leave just now, it’s still going to be a sair yin but all things considered Rodgers bringing in a striker to suit his style of play and us making money on a 30 year old and having had his best years is win, win, win far as I’m concerned.

Probably in weeks or months it’ll be decided whether it was clever or not based on how his replacement does but it makes footballing and financial sense IMO.

Our way of getting Jota back in the building and signed knowing Kyogo’s shoulder was a no go :Kyogo:

I kid but imagine we end up with both after all…:34:

We would need to be. I have thought though he hasn't wanted to be here for a long time. If he's asked to leave then that makes it worse to come back. He still has 2 and half years on his deal though also. Does seem weird though he has been there in France for 2 full days and nothing announced. I was skeptical he would pass a medical the other day on here

Of course, he’s still a quality player and if he fails the medical then he can’t be annoyed at the club since we did our part in letting him go
