Ange did. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And Kyogo put the team into team game. Justified the focus on passing to him fully by doing a power of defensive work.

    I want a rewind. This reality sucks.:90:

Aye I hate being 13 points clear, league Cup in the bag, and in the UCL knockouts.

    Rodgers out!

We're winning the league at a canter, still on for a treble and just qualified to the knockout stages of the CL. Reality is absolutely fine, you just don't seem to be living in it.

Kyogo asked to leave so to direct anger at the manager who has us 13 points clear, through to the next stage of Champions League and a trophy in the bank is odd

Ange didn't, ange is the most stubborn man going. If you listen to ange he bought players he felt would suit ange not a player

Not still on for treble. Not even quadruple. On for quintuple as when we win the CL this season we also play in Super Cup :84:

Aye this isn't on the board or Brendan, Kyogo changing agent fully signaled it was he himself who wanted to leave and when the player makes that clear, just got to oblige (providing a reasonable offer is tabled for their services of course)

The part that concerns me is WHY he's wanting to leave?

Adulation from a global support as the clubs No.1 striker in front of a 60K capacity every second week, winning trophies and playing in the Champions League, even progressing to the next stage, yet would prefer to play for a side currently battling relegation in France, in a stadium with a capacity half of ours?

I find myself confused, just searched who Rennes highest paid player is, guy called Ludovic Blas on €50K per week, we can pay that too, so I doubt wages are the issue here, Jota btw is on €45K per week, here's the list of Rennes wages

Never know. Might come back in the summer. Stranger things happen. Like selling jota and kt and getting them back at peak age :56:

If the player is set on a move it is the right time. There is no point hanging on to a 30 year old striker that doesn't want to be here when there is a real chance his shoulder injury could rear its head again.

It's just makes sense to cash in now, use the money to invest in a new striker that has time to bed in before CL qualifiers next season.

Tbf it's not surprising given who it's coming from.

Might not even be losing him at all if he fails his medical due to his ongoing shoulder issue

Even if on paper we could, offering a 30 year old a new contract on those wages wouldn't really make sense for us, not on his scoring record over the last year.

As for the other stuff, I'm sure he's loved his time here, winning trophies, playing in the CL, the fans, but he has experienced it all and won everything he can here a few years on the trot, players just want a new challenge sometimes, France overall is a better standard of league than Scotland, there's no getting away from that.

There are a handful of teams on earth who every really try to adapt to meet the needs of one player. You’re talking about Argentina with Messi, Portugal with Ronaldo etc.

We were never going to adapt our entire game simply to get the best out of Kyogo. It’s silly talk to suggest we would even contemplate it.

Maybe some minor tactical tweaks could’ve helped, but ultimately it’s up to each of our players to stake a place in the team under the system Rodgers wants to play.

Kyoto was more than capable of having a place in that system, but he isn’t infallible either. No issue with him wanting a new challenge, and wish him all the best at Rennes.

I am enclined to agree but have serious doubts now after watching Nice put in the single worst display I've seen from a team in Europe... the fact that it was against the huns was coincidental

I don't think the French league is what it was even just a few years ago

With Larsson I was gutted - but I was like 16, and he was the best player I’d ever seen in the Hoops. He still is incidentally - much better than Kyogo, who was good but more comparable to Edouard, Dembele, even Hooper.

With Tierney, I fully expected it when Arsenal came calling because…it was Arsenal. He went to one of the best teams in the biggest league in the world.

Our entire model is based on bringing in players, improving them, selling for a profit, and reinvesting. No doubt that is how we sell the club to encourage talent to come and no doubt we will point to many examples of players we've successfully done this with. So if any player stays for a few years then decides to move on, we should say thanks and move them on.

With kyogo in particular, he's at an age and a point in his progess where we've probably had the very best of him. He's had a poor season by his own high standards and we've had months to prepare for him leaving because it's clearly been the plan since the summer window. So I'm not stressed and as long as we're doing our job properly in having replacements lined up we will be fine.

Best of luck to him. He's been brilliant.

We’re as dominant domestically and significantly better in Europe with Rodgers system though.

Thats Rodgers priority - the success of the club, not the success of Kyogo.
