Seen it happen so many times now I’m kinda desensitised to it now what a do know is another player will take the berth and we move on it’s Celtic that will be the constant excited to see who they bring in same way when edouard went we got kyogo and forgot all about edouard

Or when dembele left edoaurd made us forget all about it

The Kyogo departure leaves us with only 2 japanese players. That's unacceptable. Love our japanese bhoys. Need to sign more of them.

As great as he's been over his spell, read last night he's got 6 goals in 24 games since the Dortmund game. That's not a number that's irreplaceable. Many of us have been saying for a while our strikers need to do more and I don't buy for a minute that they're not getting chances. They are.

Has been missing some very peculiar chances and in general his usual happy demeanour had lessened somewhat. His form away from home domestically also fell off a cliff past year or so. Dingwall goals bit of an anomaly of late.

I definitely think it make sense to part ways. More so because I think he's pushed for this as well.

Suppose what I'm truing to say is, we've managed to get the best of him.

Glad I'm not the only one to notice this sad trend. If the rumors of us going for a CL team striker are true, then let it be Ayase Ueda of Feyenoord.

Very disappointed in the way Kyogo’s time at Celtic has come to an end. The Rennes manager has said Kyogo has played his last game for Celtic and will play for Rennes this weekend.

Kyogo came from virtually the other side of the world and gave his all for Celtic. He has given us some great performances and brilliant goals. He was loved by the Celtic fans and it’s disappointing that they won’t be able to give him the send off he deserves. Possibly some clueless agent who has no idea that the Celtic fans would hold no resentment towards Kyogo and give him nothing but praise in his last game. Kyogo himself probably doesn’t realise the level of appreciation and praise that he would get from the Celtic fans. Not all players deserve this even the good ones but Kyogo was a special player.

Forever in our hearts. Will be strange to see him play elsewhere.

Scored against Bayern on Wednesday. He's probably pricey. We should be targeting players straight from Japan. Loads of high-quality footballers on affordable prices. No wonder the Japan NT has had some great results lately. European teams are starting to take notice, but it's still an untapped market.

Agreed on players from Japan, but I'd like a finished article to replace Kyogo, and Ueda is backup to Gimenez at Feyenoord.

All jokes aside it a market I really hope we continue to explore. They seem to have a very strong mentality, and adjust well to the Scottish league and weather.

I can't get some of the negativity about Jota in here because he hasn't done anything in the last 18 months. Give him time to get up to speed and he'll be flying again. He's not a project, we know what we're getting

It's so weird, because logically, everything about this move makes total sense. With him being 30, it's our last chance to make money on him, whereas they are a team he can save from relegation and they probably operate on a different model anyway. He wanted to go. The timing makes sense too: we just made the playoffs and realistically, we're not going to get an automatic place. They also need him as soon as possible for obvious reasons. It even makes perfect sense that all news of this was suppressed until after the game.

So it all makes sense in the context of modern football.

But then maybe it's modern football that doesn't make sense. If it makes sense for one of our most iconic players of the last 5 years to be playing in the CL one day and on a plane to France less than 24 hours later, having played his last game for us and with no chance for the fans to send him off properly, then that tells us where we are as a sport TBH.

There’s always an aspect of it with returning players or managers in the case of Rodgers, it’s always a tired statement of don’t look back and it rarely works out when a player returns after a successful spell. Personally, I blame Charlie Nicholas for that.

Doesn’t ring true for me. BR just now obvious example, Mulgrew far better returning albeit he was young when we punted him, Maloney’s second spell was a success (often labelled not though), Izzy as an old boy past it his 2nd spell had to come in and was crucial when that was needed.

I’ve seen it successful more than it failing in my time supporting us.

And those examples, the key thing even though it’s me labelling them as a success, none were returning at the age Jota is now. He’s 25. That’s before the generally accepted’peak’ age, usually 27-32. He’s 25, he was sensational here. His Saudi move didn’t work out not out of ability, was other headline grabbing players signed that raised the profile more than him with only so many foreign players allowed with some politics thrown in, labelled not suitable for traditions of the country.

Dunno why Rennes move didn’t work, but as far as I’m concerned it’s lucky for us it didn’t. Cos we wouldn’t have any chance of him here otherwise

True but i dont think we are buying for his potential, i think we are buying for what he can bring now. But clearly his career has stalled since leaving us and Rodgers needs to get him match fit and back on track.

What excites me most is that teams wont be able to afford to put to much emphasis on stopping him as Khun has will potentially be on the other wing. I just hope we can get a tune out of him again because its been a few seasons now.

My theory is that he sees playing in France as giving him a better chance of going to the World Cup.

    Which is probably true.
