My head says this is a good deal for us considering he is now 30 and to be honest he has not been prolific this season.
Nevertheless I would’ve expect a bit more than £10m - possibly 14-15 would’ve make it easier to take.
Sad to see him go though. one of my favourite players and I hope we have a replacement lined up

As much as it's gutting to see him leave it's best for everyone if that's what he wants...we move on and with hopefully someone who really gets the fans excited...if we could get Tierney Jota and a top replacement for kyogo then I think that would be something to excite the fans.

I’m pretty saddened by this. What a cracking footballer for us.

The whole move is very bizarre though. A mid table team in a really poor league (admittedly better than the SPL but nowhere near the quality of the EPL, Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga) but with zero european football and little likelihood of the high octane/pressure you receive at Celtic.

Folk look down at our league/Celtic as not being competitive enough but if you think for players there is now the opportunity of playing: 10 CL games; 4x high octane games against the Huns; 4x cup semi and finals at Hampden in addition to having the absolute demand to win every league game. That feels more competitive and high level than a team that are a midgies * off relegation in the French league.

This is a good deal for Celtic the business. It's only a good deal for the football club if we sufficiently reinvest the funds to replace him.

 

It all depends on the replacement. If we sign Kvistgaarden, I'll be excited.

Just a reminder, we sold Giakoumakis in the winter window of 2023, only to replace him with Oh. We then replaced Oh with Idah. I would argue Giakoumakis is better than both of them. The grass is always greener on the other side.

This is bonkers. We better * sign someone and that someone needs to be as good if not better than Kyogo. He's easily our best striker - his downturn in form is being vastly overplayed too.

The thought of playing out the rest of the season with Idah and Kenny as our only options is nightmarish.

We'll see whether reaching the play off round (reminder: this still isn't the last 16) is the height of our ambition this season. Something tells me it will be.
