Is this a dig at people saying it's good news for Celtic? I'm sorry but how is it out of order for fans, who pay the wages of these players, to point out that them not going to a tournament in a ridiculous climate, in the middle of a season, is good news for Celtic and what our goals are?

I think pretty much everyone feels sorry for both Kyogo and Hatate and everyone thinks that they should both be there but it's hardly out of order to suggest that it's good news for the club. They get a 6 week rest from competitive football and can train in Scotland with the others in the team. Look what Ange done with 3 weeks break in the winter last year? Imagine what he can do with another 6 weeks with these guys mid-season.

Folk love being offended for the sake of being offended man.

It's no a dig, I just think it's totally irrelevant. If they're left out of daft friendlies, or even qualifiers, am all for it, the extra time on the training pitch with Ange and the coaches is a massive bonus. But missing the world cup is * pish for them, us benefitting from it does not even come into it for me. It's selfish as * imo.

Hmmm! Think you're all over-egging this a bit. If their manager decides to go without them, especially when it's highly questionable to form/stats, then that's just the way it goes... It's definitely in our best interest, definitely disappointing for the players, but we know and they do that they're adored here. Can't see any impetus to move on over it. Don't think they'll get too down about it.

This was somewhat like English refusing to call up Sutton. Up to them, but not career defining for the players at all.

I had a look at the strikers Japan have chosen ahead of him; one guy plays for Bochum who are a relegation haunted bundesliga team - is this guy seriously better than kyogo; if he is then I suggest we get him signed up pronto - Truth is he wont be better than Kyogo and its a * travesty that a player of his ability has been left out of what is the pinnacle of football for any Japanese player; they really do regard it as a huge honour to represent their country especially in a World Cup; the 'Greatest Stage of All' - Feel sorry for the wee guy

The manager likes a stodgy negative style of football which is why Kyogo was left out and maeda was selected - maeda is was selected due to his pace on the counter attack - the manager intends to play a very dour and defensive style of football and hit the opposition on the counter attack - The managers defensive style of football has cost Kyogo his place in the squad; a sad day when a player of Kyogos class is left out due to 'anti-football' tactics

Just isn't our ideal front man for this level..

I genuinely thought he could do some serious damage if on form.....but I'm no convinced now....even though I still think he's way off form overall from last season..

Think it's deffo one of the first area's Ange will target for next year. He's seen us miss far too many chances and it will have annoyed him big time..

Has only scored against Ferencvaros in 2 Group Stage campaigns, not going to win many matches if our lone striker can't score when given countless opportunities. Been poor in the Glasgow Derbies too. We need a striker with more composure.

Always an excuse for this guy, yet the likes of Maeda and Giakoumakis get lambasted for any sort of miss.

There’s a reason why he’s not in the Japan squad.

Aye so far he's lacked that bit of composure needed to bang them in at the highest level and had his fair share of games he's operated on the fringes of, but some folk talk about him like he's Carlton Cole or something.

He's not reached the heights he's capable of this season but he's been a big part of why we sit top of the league.

Strikers can only work with what they are given. Kyogo makes so many great runs into space and time and time again our midfielders don't spot them, which I can only imagine leads to him being frustrated and frustrated players miss chances when they finally come. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Rogic sees those runs and gets the ball to Kyogo (and GG) 9 out of 10 times. Hatate, O'Riley and Mooy need to do give him better service, it's not good enough at this level to keep missing his runs.

He’s had a stinker of a Champions League campaign, there’s no sugar coating it.

    His finishing deserted him.

We’re in the Kyogo thread. I assume most have the ability to grasp who I’m referring to.

Good players don't become bad overnight.
Kyogo has suffered a little local difficulty recently, it happens to all players at some time.
It's called a Crisis of Confidence. He'll get it back in due course.
And if we sign some higher quality midfielders in January, I am sure you will see Kyogo sparkle again.
He's needs played off a big striker. Just like GG.
